"Bye, Mr. Endeavor!"

The said man tsked and turned around. He walked back into the building, giving his back to Aizawa and you, your little hand holding a cone of ice cream. Dripping at the edges.

Aizawa helped you get seated in the car and as he strapped you in, he wondered what made you so cheerful and where you had gotten the ice cream.

He got into the driver's seat and he started the car and drove off. Not to his house though, no, not yet atleast. The day was still bright and he had to get back to school before his free period ends to teach his classes.

"So, (Y/N). Where did you get that ice cream? Did they have a machine there?"

You diverted your attention from your treat and back to the front where Aizawa was. Giving him a huge smile.

"Mr. Endeavor bought me it after I got scared in the room! He was so nice and he even let me ride on his back when he turned his big flames off!"

Aizawa's eyes widened greatly. The number two hero, Endeavor himself, the great feared one, was taking you back riding and getting you ice cream? Even as a joke it would be too hard to imagine. Oh Aizawa does know about him well. He teaches his own son for God's sake. Atleast the way Shoto turned out to be absolutely didn't show great parenting from either side.

For him, even seeing Endeavor bringing you out the building was a shock. What type of kindness was that to him? He had little to no information about the whole ordeal at all.

"Oh.. uh...Good, good. Anything else happened today? Did you see your old dad?"

"Yeah...He's scary now... I don't...wanna go back..."

Your voice quited down by many tones towards the end of your sentence as what happened earlier in the day replays in your mind.

The thickening silence in the car could be cut by a knife as Aizawa swore at himself for being the cause of the depressing look on your face.

"I see... Well, I needed to tell you something. Me and Mic, even Midnight, are quite busy for the rest of the day. Would you like to stay at the Commission's daycare like last time?..."

Aizawa hoped that you'd agree. He'd heard from Midnight that you had liked the day there with Hawks. And to be completely honest, even if you had refused, he'd be forced to leave you there anyways. No one at the school was free due to the preparations for the Sports Festival.

"With Mr. Hawks?..."

"Yes. With Mr. Hawks...hopefully..."

"Just like yesterday! I'll go, I'll go!"

Aizawa sighed in relief and gave you a gentle smile from the front mirror. He saw how happy you were from being back with the winged man and was glad he brought back your joy.

"That's great to hear, (Y/N)."

"-And please do not feed her too many sugary treats, she has already eaten enough. No dangerous actions please-"

"HaHa! Don't worry, Eraserhead. I'll take good care of the kiddo. Right kid?"

"Mhm! Don't worry, papa! Mr. Hawks is very safe!"

That sentence of yours was a lie.

You heart dropped, right? What could have Hawks possibly have done worse than throw you off a building, right?

Oh, how wrong you were.

There was worse. With worse being a huge fan with a rope tied to its handle and its other end tied to your waist. The great test that Hawks called "speed test" was what this is. This was no speed test for a child. This was the Outback for a literal kid like yourself. It seemed that Hawks was slowly taking the role of the crazy uncle in your life...

"Uhmm... Mr. Hawks. I don't think this is a good idea-AAAAAAAAAAAH!?!?"

"Can't hear ya kid! Just flap those wings and touch that red dot in the middle of the fan! C'mon, I know you can do it!"

The harsh winds blew in your face as your hands held onto the rope for dear life. Your body was flown in the air and your eyes were tightly shut. Tears were going to begin falling from the edges but the wind dried them out of your eyes.

When you tried to open a small eye gap to help your vision, all you could see was painful tears and...Hawk's sudden determined face. A stoicness you never saw in him.

Focusing back to the abnormal situation in hand, you opened up your wings to try and flap them. The air directly smashed into your wing bones and a faint crack could be heard, and internally felt, by the both of you.

"Shit! Kid!"

Hawks hastily turned off the fan and ran over to your wailing figure, now on the cold ground with you holding your wing in pain.

Immediately, worry began to flush Hawks's face and he carried you quickly into his arms and sped off in great flying speeds to the infirmary.

Heroes were startled on the way due to the sudden red flash of wings flying by them. Soon, both of you were seated. You on a bed and Hawks on a chair right next to you as the nurse healed your wing mildly. The pain of the broken bone wearing off.

"Now you keep her wings tucked I well, alright? No flying for atleast a month until your bones heal, very well darling?"

"Yes ma'am..."

A gloom took over the atmosphere in the room and the nurse dismiss both you and Hawks out. Your wings now covered in a few bandages to keep them tightly in place and a prescription paper of your medication in Hawks's hand.

You didn't want to look at the Hero. Not any longer after you wing accident. You walked next to him slowly, eyes on the ground as tears fell, drop by drop, quietly on the ground. Whatever you were able to wipe away with your hands always came back as a huge sob.

You didn't know why Hawks did that. You weren't sure if he had know this would happen.

You hoped he didn't know...
