Your life was going normally, till that night. You met Enola Holmes last year when she was running from a bunch of policemen, typical Enola. You bought her into your family home as the rest of your family were working, you housed her overnight, took care of her, feed her and kept her warm, and in return she gave you her heart. You quickly fell for the girl when you joined her on her case to help Tewkesbury and without you knowing so did she. And from then on, except from tewkesbury, you two were a secret.
You were making tea for you and your siblings, father sick in bed and mother working late again. There was a knock at your door, your eyebrows furrowed with confusion of who could be at your door at this hour. You opened it to find one familiar face from last year, Edith and someone unfamiliar that you had not met before, but could easily tell who it was, Enola's mother. Same ruffled hair, same eyes, and same slumped stance, not your normal lady, but you were no better, worse in fact, one of the reason why ENola fell for you.
"What's she done now?" You sighed leaning on the door frame.
"Wrongly convicted, she's in prison." Edith told you.
"And she's not escaped yet?" You furrowed your eyebrows in surprise.
"That's why we need you. We're b-"
"I'm in." You interrupted Edith. "Papa! Tea is ready, I'm off to meet a friend, stay resting till I'm back!!" You yelled up the stairs before kneeling down to your little brother. "Your man of the house for the day, look after Papa and your sisters for me." You kissed his forehead before shouting goodbye and closing the door behind you. Following Enola's mother into the back of the carriage, Edith was controlling.
There was an awkward tension between you and Enola's mother in the back of the carriage. "Ummm, soooooo...."
"How do you know Enola?" Eudoria broke the tension.
"We became friends when I joined her on her case last year."
"She let you join her?"
"Umm yes? Why?"
"Nothing just unusual for Enola to let a stranger in that quickly."
"Oh." There it was again, that awkward tension.

"We're here." Edith knocked on the carriage.
"Oh Thank God!" you sighed in relief not being able to take the silence any longer standing up about to get out of the carriage.
"Sorry, kid stay in here with Eudoria, can't get you into any trouble." Edith closed the curtains, there were a few moments of silence until an explosion could be heard and women cheering.
"You think that's them." you smirked in amusement of your own sarcasm, especially when you saw a small smile from Eudoria. But an even bigger smile showed when you saw your girl draw the curtains from the end of the carriage a massive smile showing on her face when she saw the two of you.
"Y/N! MOTHER!" Enola launched herself into the two of yours arms as she sat beside you leaving you in the middle of them, you silently cursing yourself for not moving.
"Y/n what are you doing here what about your father?"
"The others can cope with him for a few hours. I came for you." You smiled deeply into her eyes, clearly your throat awkwardly when you felt Enola's mother's stare on you two.
