As I turn around, I come face to face with a rather angry woman. She looks to be around my age, with her blonde hair thrown up in a ponytail and a cap that says "security" in all caps. As she stands there awaiting my answer, I can't help but notice the piece of white fabric hanging from her pocket.

"Hey! I asked you a question."

"Oh, right! Sorry. Um... well I'm Y/n and I'm here to start my job as the Daycare Attendant. I'm supposed to meet with Vanessa? Is she here yet?"

"Oh, so you're the new hire. Well, you certainly look the part. Let me guess... you're fresh out of college and want a job that pays well so that you can pay off your student loans? Is that correct?"

"Um..."

"I'll take that as a yes. And as for your previous question: yes, I am Vanessa. In case you can't read." she says as she motions to the very obvious name tag that I totally didn't overlook when I first saw her. Heh.

"Now," she says, "What position did you say you had?"

"I was hired as the Daycare Attendant."

"Oh, no. You were hired as the Daycare Antendant's assistant. Yeah, they wouldn't hire a human to do a job an animatronic can do."

"What? No, you've got it wrong. Lana told me herself that my official title was Daycare Attendant."

"Yeah, no. Sorry to break it to you but she only said that so as to not scare you away. We've had 4 people turn away the job already because they were told that they would be working with an animatronic."

"Oh, well I guess that's okay. Um, Lana also said that you would give me everything I needed for the job. And also that you would walk me to the daycare..."

"Ah, right. Well, your badge and security card are in my office so how about you walk with me there and we can walk to the daycare after? The office is just down the hall so it shouldn't take long."

"Oh, ok. Thank you."

She didn't answer. Truly I don't know what to think of her. Sure she seems kinda nice, and a little standoffish but other than that she's extremely hard to read. Maybe she's just awkward around new people. As we walk together to Vanessa's office it's extremely silent, the only thing I can hear is the sound of our footsteps and the buzzing of the many lights around us. Speaking of lights, I'm finally able to look around at my surroundings. The entire hallway is covered in nostalgic '80s colors and decorations. The lights almost blinding but adding to the marvelous aesthetic. The carpet of the floor is like something straight out of my childhood, like the floors of the skating rinks that all the rich kids would have their birthday parties at and invite the whole grade to. Ahh, memories.

Like Vanessa had said, it didn't take long for us to reach the unassuming door of her office. Swiping a security card, Vanessa opened the door and walked inside. A little dubious I walked in as well. Looking around slowly I noticed a couple of things. There was a box in the corner that was filled with different colored fabrics, most of which were white and grey. Maybe it's just trash that she hasn't thrown out yet. Yeah, let's go with that. The other thing I noticed was the odd-looking duffle bag sitting next to the desk. It looked pretty stuffed but I didn't want to ask about it out of pure fear of what Vanessa would say if I did. Of course, I didn't think it was a body but still, it could be something much, much worse.

My train of thought is broken by the sound of Vanessa's voice:

"So, what do you know about the job?"

"Huh?"

"The job. Your job. What do you know about it?"

"Oh, uh, not much really. I wasn't told much, just that I would be taking care of the children with the help of another person, or animatronic apparently."
