When Tengen was young, he had a lot of problems. A lot of problems. When he became a Hashira he even more seemed to have issues. He couldn't stand being away from his wives, every second he felt like something was going to go wrong with someone he cared about. In order to somewhat make him feel better, when Kagayas kids were really young Tengen was allowed to baby sit them. He did a really good job of keeping them safe, and it did ease some of the anxiety he had. He was learning to manage it and with good company it was helping a lot. So, him and Kagaya became very close. Being the same age, being married young, they had a lot of things they had in common. Tengen and Kagaya are closer than most of the others are to Kagaya
