Rember the chapter where i talked about characters i shoved under the trans umbrella? I said Senjuro was gender fluid so this is gonna be several head canons about that.
Senjuro didn't really experiment much with clothing and identity till they were closer to 18. Thrye didnt really understand as a 12 year old, and they didnt feel comfortable yet even coming out untill around 16. And even then they just knew, they weren't ready to do much. Plus, with the time period it was extremely difficult to do because being LGBTQ was an issue.
Once Senjuro turned 18 they started to do a lot more experimenting with how they dressed and such. By 20 they could easily and very convincingly switch between male, female, and confusing the shit out of people.
One day, Senjuro (while dressed as a woman) met a woman. Eventually they did admit...well everything to her and surprisingly enough she didn't care one bit. That day Senjuro learned his new friend was pan.
After knowing eachother for a few months Senjuro and the woman started dating. Eventually after only about 2 years they got married.
So about the actual like...gender fluid stuff. Senjuro often would use a different name depending on how they felt. Not because they really had a preferred name, but because it was easier that way in public.
Senjuro went more or less as far as one can go with cross dressing. It wasnt drag, it wasnt over the top, but they would wear wigs, do their makeup, womens clothing.
Shinjuro was accepting but...he was confused. He called Senjuro an 'it' for several years because he genuinely thought that was the best way to refer to Senjuro because 'he' wasnt always correct. Senjuro never cared that much because thrh knew their dad was trying he was just a little slow.
Senjuro had absolutely no issues woth height because they never got very tall. They could easily wear different shoes without being oddly tall for a woman (like how Shinjuro is i think 6 foot tall, they are only like 5'6)
