The massive conflict quickly spilled across the entire city, the full brunt of the Seared Hand bearing down on the combined forces of the Mage Aspects and their allies. The Earth Sect bent the ground to their will, shaping its form to aid themselves and their teammates. The Water Sect fought off Flamestar's forces while also putting out the city's fires at the same time. The Ice Sect valiantly fought off their enemies without sparing a single thought for Frost King Alpin; as far as they were concerned, he was a leader no longer. And the Fire Sect seemed to be the most impassioned of the four orders, relentlessly setting the area ablaze just to get to their treacherous "master".

Because they possessed no defensive abilities of their own due to still technically being regular humans, Mike, Alexis, Rosie, Kat, Alexa, and Michael all tried to take a more careful, pragmatic approach to their combat style; they would use the surrounding buildings as cover from the Seared Hand's attacks and wait for them to get distracted by something else, then they would quickly nail them with a water bolt to the back.

Much to their worry, however, Alexa began to enjoy the fight a little too much, hopping on an abandoned hovercraft in a nearby corner and using it to barrel through the streets of the Grand Terminus, shooting down every foe she saw without any regard for her own well-being.

"What's she doing?!" Rosie exclaimed. "She's going to get herself killed!"

"Umm....." Kat replied, fumbling for a response. Soon, she spotted a second hovercraft near the same spot. "Just take that one and go help her! Make sure she stays safe!"

Rosie, although incredibly reluctant to leave the others behind, did as she was told, and began pursuing Alexa in the other vehicle while Mike, Alexis, Kat, and Michael continued their hit-and-run tactics.

While Coldsnap remained on the ground, splitting her sword into its two halves once again and slicing through Flamestar's minions like the one-woman army she was, her ice dragon took to the skies and began firing well-placed icy blasts from its mouth at the battlefield below, while expertly avoiding every attempt made by the Seared Hand to neutralize it. Every foe caught within the blast radius of these projectiles would be instantly frozen in a block of ice, which would be immediately shattered by Coldsnap within seconds, ensuring instant death.

Additionally, at the other end of the courtyard, Keena had managed to successfully hold off the first few waves of attackers, bringing down many Seared Hand mages and flame imps while severely wounding one of the molten giants and forcing them to flee. However, her aggressors appeared to gain the upper hand after one of them ambushed her from behind and slashed her across the back with their blade, causing her to cry out in pain and fall forwards, her baton clattering to the ground.

"Say goodbye, little girl," they said smugly as they raised their katana to deliver the finishing blow.

However, Keena managed to summon her staff back to her hand at the last second and blocked their advance, redirecting their weapon away from them in the process. Then, she used the expanding water shield maneuver once again to get the Seared Hand mages off of her, allowing her enough space to create several aquatic globules around her that quickly coalesced around her body, taking on the form of the giant water colossus once more, much to everyone's surprise.

Coldsnap stared in awe at her partner as the water mage used her strength to dispose of the enemies that were harassing her, before moving on to assist the others.

"Awwww, yeah! Go, Keena!" she cheered, fatally impaling one of her ambushers in the stomach without even looking at them.

Then, she returned to the fight.
