For the next few weeks, Lovino would visit Alfred in the hospital just about every day. And on each of those days, they would get to know each other more and more. Soon enough, it seemed like they had know each other since childhood.
Finally, Alfred was permitted to leave the hospital, and he never thought he would be so grateful to eat something other than the bland hospital food he was offered. The first thing on his to-do list was drive through a McDonald's. The young American was not the only one excited about his release, his new friend Lovino was, too.
When he was first admitted to the hospital, Lovi simply stopped by every once in a while. He seemed... reluctant, one could say, to talk to Alfred. The more often the two talked, his aloof attitude had changed slightly over time, and Alfred was getting more used to his personality.
That was something that Lovino secretly liked about Alfred, and why he kept coming back to visit him. He accepted Lovino, and never complained about or compared his personality to anyone else's. He found himself feeling more comfortable around Alfred than he had ever felt with anyone. Of course, he would never admit that, though.

"Lovi, dude! Whats taking so long?" Alfred called from his living room. He had invited the Italian over for a movie in a celebration of his release from the hospital.
"Calm it, asshole. I'm making us popcorn." he replied from his place in the kitchen. Pop! The last of the kernels had blown and Lovino took the bag out of the microwave. "And stop calling me Lovi! Its annoying, and its not my name!"
"Haha, yea, whatever dude. Just come on so we can watch the movie!"
He walked out of the kitchen carrying a large bowl of popcorn, only to see a large jumble of pillows and blankets lying in a heap on the carpet. "What the hell is this?" Lovino asked.
"I'm building a fort!" Alfred exclaimed, "You wanna come in?" he held open a blanket which was obviously supposed to be the door.
"I'll pass. Now come put the movie on."
"Aww, fine." Alfred emerged from his pillow-heap and put in the movie.
About half an hour had passed since the beginning of the movie. The two had started the film simply sitting next to each other, but now they were huddled together under a blanket Alfred had pulled over them. Both pretended to be interested in the cheesy action movie Al picked, but neither actually were. They were more focused on how close they were sitting. Lovino's cheeks had been tinted a slight pink thinking about the fact that he was practically sitting in the other males lap. Alfred noticed this and chuckled lightly.
"What's so funny?"
"You're blushing. "
"N-no I'm not!"
"Yes you are."
Lovino hid his face in the blanket, trying to be angry.
"Aww, don't hide it dude, you're cute when you blush." Alfred said in protest. "Look at me, please?"
He hesitantly lifted his head up to look at Al. His blush had deepened to the color of a tomato.
Alfred gently placed his hand on Lovi's cheek, their faces inching closer with each passing second. Alfred could feel the Italian's breath on his face.
Lovino finally closed the gap, and brought their lips together.
