The heavily falling rain had been ignored until it ended. Alfred and Lovino had spent their time making up jokes about where thunder came from amd watching the torrents of water slip from the sky. Hours passed until this unusually long thunder storm ceased. The two noticed a faint rainbow amongst the misty evening sky at the end of their rain-watching. But the colorful streak meant more than just the mark of a storm. For Lovino, the sight of it made him believe that some good could come from this seemingly somber life of his.

Their peaceful moment was interupted by the ringing of Alfred's cell phone. For some reason, his ringtone was set to Wrecking Ball by Miley Cyrus.

"Really? Wrecking ball?" Lovino laughed.

"Come on dude. You gotta admit its a good song."

Alfred picked up the phone and went pale at the sound of the voice on the other end.

"Alfred, love, didn't you say you were going to call me?" the unmistakable British accent of Arthur was heard through the phone.

"N-no, I never said that." said Alfred.

"Remember? You said that we would talk later. So why not talk now?"

"I did say that, but I didn't want you to call me a day later! I have to go anyway. I have someone over." Alfred said, and abruptly ended the call.

"Who was that?" Lovino asked. Who could've called that would make Al so angry?

"Ah, it was no one. They're not important anymore." Lovino raised an eyebrow in suspicion. "Besides," the blond continued with a smile, "I've got you now, right?"

The Italian's face turned a slight pink. "I g-guess..."

Alfred leaned over and pressed their lips together.

Lovi couldn't even say how much he loved the kisses Alfred gave. They were so full of love that he could feel it in every part of his body. He kissed back and tried his best to return the amazing feeling that Al was giving to him. They stayed like this for a few seconds until air was very necessary.

Alfred took one look at the very flustered Italian and said completely out of the blue, "I wish you would smile more." He meant it sincerely. A smile was something that graced Lovi's lips rarely, and that made Alfred sad. To him, the smile on his olive-tanned face was the most beautiful thing.

"W-well...I wish you would talk less." Lovi responded. He blushed and looked at his shoes like they were the most interesting thing he'd seen all his life. Alfred just laughed at his comment.

His laughter faded slowly and he sighed. "Im glad he's gone. I don't need him." he said more to himself than Lovino.

"Who's gone?"

Alfred suddenly realized what he had said, and out loud too. "Nobody, dude. Don't worry about it." he replied calmy and leaned back in his chair.

"We just kissed. And for the second time, too. If its bothering you so much, just tell me. You can trust me."

The American decided that it was time to tell about Arthur.

"Do you remember the guy who was at the restaurant the night we met?" Al said.

To be honest, Lovino remembered every detail on that night. The bustle of the other waiters, carrying orders to the kitchen. The smell of wine. The way the stranger with a weird cowlick walked in with a certain confident air about him. The smell of gasoline and the sounds of the first screams were sadly what was most vivid in his memory.

"Yes. I remember."

"Well...we had been dating for about a year. I was actually saving up for a ring to propose. But that night, he dumped me. I had no idea why. And I was heartbroken. I loved him, and up until that time, I thought he loved me too." the beginnings of tears were forming in his eyes. He wiped them away, and a look of anger replaced them. He continued, "And now, he keeps calling me and telling me that he wants to get back together."

When Alfred finished, Lovino felt a wave of emotions. First it was jelousy, then anger, then sadness, then back to jelousy. In his mind, nobody should ever be treated like that. No one should have to be played with like a toy and then simply dropped after falling in love. But wait, Lovino thought, that wasn't love. What him and Arthur had was not love. He stood up and wraped his arms around Al, rested his head on his shoulder and kissed his cheek.

"Well tell that bastard Brit that he can't have you back. You're mine."
