Some things will just never truly go away, whether they be good or bad. Sometimes, it could be an embarassing picture your friends have saved and still laugh about. Other times it could be a childhood memory. Ones of drippy popsicles in the summer, or freezing wet knitted gloves in the fresh fallen snow of winter. For a certain American, it was the feelings that Arthur Kirkland had given him. They were feelings of both amazing heights and all time lows. The times that they had spent together were ones that Alfred would always remember.
But he would trade every one of those memories for just one second with Lovino.

The familiar ringtone of Wrecking Ball sang from Alfred's phone as he picked it up. It was a call from his old friend, Gilbert.
"Hey bro! Mathias and I want to know if you can come do something awesome with us today." Gil said.
Well, Lovi had left already, and everyone else was busy, so Alfred had no plans for the day.
"Heck yea, bro! What are we gonna do?" he replied excitedly.
"Well, the carnival just came to town so we thought it would be awesome to go. Meet us at my place."
"Cool! See ya in ten!"
With those words he hung up the phone and went to find his key. Getting in the car, he started it and pulled out of his driveway.

Gilbert was interrupted in the middle of scrolling through Tumblr when he heard the chime of the doorbell. Getting up, he opened the front door of his brother's house and was greeted by Alfred's familiar face.
"Hey! Were going to leave in like a minute. I'll be right back." Gil said and opened the door a bit wider, inviting his friend in. Alfred stepped inside and plopped down onto the couch next to Mathias. As the two were ranting about all the totally awesome things they were going to do, they heard arguing from the other room.
"And please, Gilbert, don't come back drunk this time." Alfred could hear the deep voice of Gil's younger brother, Ludwig scolding him in the kitchen. "I don't want it to end up like last time. You could have been arrested, you know."
"Kesesese~ Whatever! Wow, someone needs to let loose a bit. Think we could find him a girl at the carnival?" the oldest said, and Mathias and Al could hear Ludwig's exasperated sigh all the way from the living room. The Prussian then turned to his friends on the couch. "You guys ready to go?"
"Yeah!
"Lets do it, bro!"
And with the two excited replies, they headed out the door.
On the way to the fair, Gilbert was constantly complaining about his brother. "West just keeps blabbing on and on about his new crush. He's some Italian kid he met at a restaurant. I think his name is Feliciano or some shit like that."
The name struck Alfred as familiar. "Wait, an Italian restaurant? Thats where I met Lovi! I think Feliciano is his brother, actually! How crazy is that, huh? Small world."
Gil rolled his eyes and chuckled. "Yeah, small world."
"So what's this Lovi guy like, anyway? You haven't told us much about him. Except for how hot he is, of course." Mathias teased.
Alfred laughed lighty, and went into full detail about Lovino, and just how he felt about him. When he finished, they were all quiet for a minute.
Until Gil spoke up. "Awww~ My little Alfred is in love! They grow up so fast!" he joked, and wiped a pretend tear from the corner of his eye.
Al laughed and punched him in the arm. "Yeah, well you can be my best man at the wedding, Mr. I'm-so-awesome-at-everything-except-finding-a-girlfriend."
"Ouch! Rude!" the Prussian said, and the three laughed.
The rest of the evening went on something like that. Witty comments, teasing, rollercoasters at the carnival. Of course, all three of them completely disregarded Ludwig's advice about not coming home drunk. He ended up having to pick the three idiots up because none of them were sober enough to drive.
