Y/N
Finally, the weather is starting to get cooler, and I can put my cute winter sweater to good use. After getting all dressed and ready, I head downstairs and directly into the kitchen. Ms. Palma immediately acknowledges my presence. "Good morning Ms. Palma," I say in a happy tone. A smile comes upon her face as she replies, "Someone is perky today. Something I don't know about?" "It's beautiful day, which calls for a beautiful attitude," I tell her. Before she can say anything, Mr. Urgancıoğlu walks in. "Good morning Mr. Urgancıoğlu. May I get anything for you?" Ms. Palma asks. Keeping his focus on his phone, he tells her he is fine and just wants a cup of coffee. Taking a deep breath, I begin telling him about the schedule for today. Before I can even finish, he cuts me off, "Cancel all my morning appointments." My eyes widen, as I look towards Ms. Palma. Shrugging her shoulders, she continues to fix Mr. Urgancıoğlu's coffee. "May I ask why?", I ask him. He looks me over, then back at his phone, before responding, "You need new clothes." My eyes blink rapidly in shock, and I again look at Ms. Palma. We both return our attention to Mr. Urgancıoğlu when he says, "We're leaving in ten minutes, so get ready."
Once I am all ready, I head outside. Instead of the usual limo being at the bottom of the steps, I see Kaan waiting for me in front of his car. My stomach knots up at the thought of being alone with him. Slowly, I make my way down the steps and into the front, passenger seat. As soon as Kaan sits in the driver's seat we head off. About twenty minutes later, we arrive at the mall. I've never cared for expensive clothes, especially those from the mall. Not only are they overpriced, but they are not my style. Because of this, I turn to look at Kaan and ask, "Can we please go to the discount clothing store instead?" He quirks an eyebrow and alas in turn, "Why go there and get secondhand clothes when you can get new ones?" "Because I don't want new clothes. Second hand are more worn down and are more comfortable. Besides, there's some sort of satisfaction that I get when I find a one-of-a-kind piece of clothing," I reply. After a while of looking between me and the mall, he restarts the car and drives out of the mall's parking lot. When we get to the discount store. Kaan hands me his credit card and tells me to go in by my and that he will wait for me to finish. "I can pay for it," I reply. His eyes meet mine and he repeats his previous statement in a slightly deeper tone. I decide to not argue with him and take the card from his fingers.
After I finish all of my shopping, we head back to the house. There, Ms. Palma has fixed us a wonderful lunch. I sit happily at the table and prepare to satisfy my grumbling stomach. Kaan however decides to skip lunch and heads straight for his office. Just as I hear the office door close, Ollie comes running into the room. A smile covers my face as his tiny paws rest themselves on my knees. After a while of petting his floppy ears, he falls back onto his two front feet and just looks at me. Patting him gently on the head, I stand up and head to the sink in order to wash my hands. As I dry my hands, Ms. Palma sets my plate of food down on the table in front of where I was sitting. She begins to make her way to begin completing another chore when I ask, "Could you please eat with me? It's been a long morning, and I really just want to actually talk with someone." She smiles, before accepting my request. Once she has also served herself a plate, we sit down. Ollie lays on the oak floor in front of the back door. The noon sun shining through the glass panes and cascading into his tiny body. The warmth I imagine he must be feeling causes me to shiver. "Are you cold my dear?", Ms. Palma asks with a caring tone. I want to tell her yes, but then she would get up to get me a blanket or something to cover myself with. I don't want that. I want her to rest her aching body for once. So, I simply shake my head. She hesitates, before just dropping the subject. I take a big bite of the warm spaghetti in front of me. I'm not sure if it's because I'm hungry, but this spaghetti taste amazing. "What's going on between you and Mr. Urgancıoğlu?", Ms. Palma suddenly in a hushed tone, almost like she doesn't want anyone else to hear her question. My eyes meet her's and I just look at her. What is going on between us? I laugh off her question and simply state, "Nothing...he's my boss and I'm his personal assistant...nothing more." She nods her head, as she directs her attention back to her plate of spaghetti. I can tell that she doesn't believe what I have just said. My curiosity gets the better of me, and I ask her, "What makes you think there is something going on?" The way she looks at me makes it seem like that one question has just justified her suspicious, even though it was meant as a general question. "Well, you two have been tense with one another ever since you have returned from the business trip," she replies calmly, "It's like you both have some sort of issue with one another." I bite my bottom lip in an effort to keep myself from telling her everything I wish I could tell Kaan.
Mr. Urgancıoğlu
"Damn it," I say angrily as the memory of what I did to Y/N comes flooding into my brain. I can't stop thinking about it, every time I see Y/N it hits me like a ton of bricks. Why did I have to lose control? I was doing so good at keeping myself together. My hands ball up into fists as I continue to internally beat myself. A knock at the door takes me out of my thoughts. "Come in," I say briefly. The door opens, and Y/N's eyes peer from around the frame. My heart becomes light from her innocent act. Slowly, she steps into the office. She bits down on her bottom lip, while rubbing her thumbs along the tips of her other fingers. Her eyes look at everything but me as she contemplates what to say. "Thank you for getting me new clothes," she says in a frail tone. I simply hum a response and nod my head. She continues to look around the office. I can tell she wants me to say or do something that will allow her to move. As I am about to say something, she suddenly asks, "Why are you being so distant lately?" My eyes widen slightly and my breathing hitches. She continues, "Every time it's time to eat, you just come to your office. When it's a workday, you go to the office and make me send you everything you need. Then, when anyone asks you a question, you don't even hear them. Like right now, you don't hear your phone ringing." My eyes drift down to my phone which is ringing with a call from Mehmet. Exhaling sharply, I pick up the call. "Well hello brother. I thought you would never answer," Mehmet says comically on the other end. My eyes stay on Y/N's as I reply, "Sorry, I've been busy." Clearing his throat, Mehmet states, "I get you man. I was just calling to see if you wanted to meet up sometime soon. It's been a long time. Besides, Azra's been talking nonstop about how she wants to see you." The corner of my lip curls slightly at the thought of Azra. "I should be available this weekend if that works for you and Canan," I tell him. "Sounds good brother. Oh, and bring your female friend...Y/N," he says. Y/N's cheeks blush as she hears Mehmet's words. I quickly end the call with him, "I'll have to check with her. Talk to you later brother." Once I place the phone back on the desk, I walk around my desk and walk up to Y/N while making sure to not invade her personal space. After taking a deep breath, I answer her question, "I'm giving you some space. After what happened a couple of weeks ago," I pause, "I just want to give you some space." She exhales with a shaky breath. "What you did was wrong, yes. However, it's done, and we can't go back. So, the only option is to move forward," she states. Her words make me feel even worse about what I did. Even though she seems to have moved on, it hurts me, because I wonder how she can forgive me so easily. I wish she would just do something other than act like everything is ok. I exhale in frustration and say in a slightly frustrated tone, "Just stop it Y/N! Scream at me, hit me, say that you wish I was never in your life; do anything, but don't act like you don't care about what happened." Her eyes widen and her mouth opens, but no words come out. "Is this your way of punishing me for what I did? By causing me to continue to beat myself up for what I did, while you act like it's ok?", I ask impatiently. Her lips purse, before she pushes her hand into my chest. I stumble back a step. "You want me to tell you my honest feelings?", she asks rhetorically, "Ok then. I hate you. There! You are nothing more than a cold-hearted, self-centered, jerk who thinks that he owns everything and everyone. I know your father hurt you and continues to hurt you every time you see him; however, that doesn't mean that you can place your anger onto everyone who is lower than you." I attempt to interject, but she shuts me up, "Don't cut me off. You asked for me to tell you my true feelings, so listen. You were the most handsome man I've ever seen. Every time I was in the same room as you, I got goosebumps. However, as the weeks went by, I realized how possessive you could be. Then, just because Poyhaz wanted to become office friends, you cut me off and became the biggest snob. Even when I tried to explain the situation to you, you continued to ignore me. As far as my feelings concerning what you did to me, all I have to say is that it will be a long time for me to completely forgive you. Nevertheless, you are still my boss. That is why I have put the memory in the back of my mind. This way, I can continue to focus on work. I need this job, and you are dumb if you think that I will let your immaturity keep me from completing my tasks efficiently." Before I even have a chance to respond to her words, she turns around on her heel and walks out of my office. "I'll gain your affection back Y/N," I say under my breath, before returning to my desk.
