🎶: 'deja vu' by Olivia Rodrigo
Soobin inhaled the sweet air of Malibu, opening his eyes to see the nostalgic scenery.
After nearly a year of not being able to visit during the worldwide pandemic, he was finally back in the city... where he met him.
A sigh escaped his lips, leaning against the railing of the boardwalk that looked towards the beach.
His eyes were full of longing.
"Beomgyu... do you maybe remember everything too?"
Who is this Beomgyu guy, you may ask?
Why, he's Soobin's ex boyfriend.
And they met here, in Malibu, while they were both on vacation with their families.
They had quite the California summer love story.
After becoming friends, Beomgyu and Soobin often did car rides around the city, visiting the most popular tourist spots in the area.
Sometimes they would stop at an ice cream parlor to buy strawberry ice cream, their favorite flavor, or just simply take a walk around the shops.
Because in Malibu, there were a LOT of shops.
In one particular store that sold clothing, the two bought matching denim jackets that had floral patterns on them, laughing when they forgot which one belonged to whom (since Soobin was way taller than Beomgyu), not caring about the attention they gained from their peers.
But the most beautiful moments were when they went to the beach together, especially when they were during sunset.
They often spent their time cuddling or singing or playing their instruments. Beomgyu could play the guitar after all, and would often strum the chords to their favorite songs.
Those were extremely special times for Soobin, the most prominent being the one where Beomgyu kissed him after singing I Love You by Alex and Sierra.
Soobin smiled sadly, knowing these were just memories. He looked back to the beach, at the golden sand, and suddenly squinted.
He thought his eyes were playing tricks on him when he spotted a mop of red hair, and even took his phone out to zoom in on the person.
Yep, there he was.
Choi Beomgyu was back in Malibu as well.
It wasn't hard for Soobin to recognize him: back when they were together in Korea, he would see the younger boy nearly every day.
But he wasn't alone.
A pretty girl was sitting next to him, and the blanket where Soobin and Beomgyu used to sit was underneath them.
