"I hope he doesn't have too many stops tonight."

Coco watched through her fingers as Curtis wrapped the long string around the doorknob. This didn't seem the brightest way to get his attention, but Scott and Curtis didn't listen very well.

"You and me both, pal." Scott said, his heart beating fast. "Okay. Let's just get it over with."

"Okay."

Curtis looked at Coco, watching her cover her face again. He counted down, slammed the door, and instead of his tooth coming out, the doorknob yanked off, hitting Scott in the head. He fell back with a yelp of pain. Coco looked quickly, her fingers resting on her cheeks.

"Santa, are you okay?" Coco's small voice asked.

"Mhm." Scott groaned. "Yeah, I'm...I'm not concussed at all."

From the top of the stairs, Neil sharply whispered, "What's going on down there?"

Coco was only able to watch helplessly as Neil decided he was going to help Scott rip his tooth out. She stood next to Laura, once again covering her face.

"Are you sure about this?" Laura asked, her eyes wide.

"What? The old toaster trick? When we were kids, we used to do this to get a little extra cash. Works every time."

"I can't watch this."

Laura covered her face, tucking Coco into her side. Coco wrapped her arms around her.

"You ready, buddy?"

"All right." Scott said, his nerves bubbling in his stomach. "Let her rip."

Neil began to count, and he threw the toaster. Coco winced at the loud crash, and peeked from Laura's side, seeing Scott tumble down the stairs, and grunting as he lay on the floor.

"Oh, Scott!"

"Santa!"

Coco rushed to his side, helping him up. He groaned in pain, wrapping his arm around her as he pushed himself up. "Are you okay?"

"Mom?" Lucy called.

"Yes?" Laura yelled back.

The little girl walked out. "I lost another tooth. Should I put it under my pillow?"

"Yes." Scott answered.

As they set their trap for the tooth fairy, Coco found herself and Curtis waiting quietly in the hallway. His hand was wrapped tightly around hers, and Coco's cheeks were crimson. She avoided looking at him, trying to fight the smile that was trying to crawl on her face.

"Have you had a good time out of the workshop?" Curtis whispered.

Coco nodded. "Yeah. It's beautiful out here."

They looked at each other, wide smiles and red cheeks on both of them. They were in their on little word, and it was crushed when Scott started whisper yelling louder.
