Finding out the truth

(A.N.: Just a heads up, this chapter is long.)

No one's POV:

It was now nighttime, and the group had just settled down in the campsite they just set up. Everyone is just now chilling around and doing their own thing.

Monkey King has gone back to meditating in the van for who knows how long, for now. Everyone else is by the campfire.

Mei is just on her phone; her parents are fixing a radio, hoping find out if some of the people of Megapolis manage to escape, went in hiding, or at least find out how far the Lady Bone Demon's wrath is spreading.

Mei: "Anything from the radio yet?" She questioned, trying to be hopeful. Mei's parents shook their heads "No" in response.

Mr Dragon: "I can't get a signal from anywhere else either than the survivor bases in the city." He said while trying to find a way to get a better signal.

Mrs Dragon: "All I managed to get from one of the channels is that those who fled from Megapolis, including us and the people who took refuge in the survivor bases are being hunted. And those who remained and tried to fight back against Lady Bone Demon's bone spirit soldiers are being turned into ice statues." She said.

Mei then had an uneasy look, as all she can think is that things back in the city are getting worse by the second. Her mother wrapped an arm around her to comfort her, letting her know everything will be okay.

Tang is crossing things on the map, Sandy is just chilling by the fire reading a book, with Mo on his shoulders, Pigsy on the other hand looks as if he's in deep thought about something, or someone, MK in particular.

And that's the thing, right when they set up camp, MK went on his own in the woods to train to get his powers back. His friends offered to help him, but he politely declined their offer, saying he wants to train alone, which shocked them since MK doesn't train on his own. But either way, they agreed, despite them being a little upset that they can't help him train.

Pigsy's mind: "What's going on with MK? He's acting...a bit off since this whole trip started. When Monkey King talked about using the samadhi fire, MK sounded a bit distrustful towards Monkey King and he was acting way too cautious and questioned the plan Monkey King had as if he knows something bad is gonna happen. Also, when did he know about the whole "origin of the Samadhi fire" thing from a "different storyteller"? Tang is the only known storyteller he's ever known!" He said in his head. "Also the time when we arrived at Ao Guang's palace. Why would he summon a clone to take his place in the dungeon we were in? There's no way he would know we would get put in there right away, or the right time to summon a clone. And wouldn't making a clone make a noise? None of us heard it! Neither did we hear him shape-shift to get out of the dungeon!" He added as he remembered back in the dungeon when MK just opened the door and he, Tang, and Monkey King realized that the MK that was with them was a clone. Then he remembered the time MK scared the heck out of the Goldfish Demon. "Since when can MK act all menacingly!? He frightened the living soul out of the Goldfish Demon!" He said as he recalled what happened a few hours ago."And what's with that scythe? Mei and Monkey King said that MK created it the same way Monkey King creates food, which is disgusting in Monkey King's case. Wouldn't the scythe turn into hair when he doesn't need it anymore? Why would it disappear into thin air then? Is that scythe made from his hair or is it an actual real weapon that we don't know about?" He questioned as his thoughts on MK hiding something from the group began to escalate.

Sandy is the first to notice his friend is in deep thought on something and spoke up.

Sandy: "Hey, Pigsy, you doing okay?" He questioned as Pigsy looked at him, causing Tang, Mei and her parents to turn their attention toward them.
