"A second chance" (monkie kid au)

The King, the prince, the shadow (and the dragon princess) part 1

(A.N.: Just a heads up, this chapter is long.)

No one's POV:

Lantern city can be seen, as half of the city is now engulfed in large ice-like crystals due to Macaque's burst of bone demon energy. The monorail that MK and the others are in can be seen speeding through the rails while small ice-like crystals formed on the rails, causing the monorails to lose its balance for a bit as it then stabilizes back in place on the rails. The monorail continues to drive through the rails as ice-like crystals appeared behind them, causing an explosion.

In the city, civilians tried to run for their lives while screaming in panic as the ice-like crystals began to form around the city, but most of their attempts failed as some of the civilians are now trapped in the ice-like crystals, while others continue to scream in panic as they still try to flee from the ice-like crystals.

Back at the monorail, it a had gotten away from the city at a far distance away from the disaster happening there. In the back cart, Monkey King is leaning against the wall with his hands in the pockets of his hoodie. Tang is looking out at the window with a worried look on his face upon looking at what's happening to the city. Pigsy is at the front end of the cart as he is also looking at the window, but he is on the lookout to find where Mystic Mountain could be (Which is the same mountain where the Samadhi Fire was separated).

Pigsy's mind: "From what MK told us before we got to the city, the mountain would have three giant rings going from the top right, to downward left." He said in his head as continued to look for the mountain. Shortly after, he actually found the mountain and can see that they still got a few miles to get there. "Looks like we'll be on the monorail for a while." He stated in his head.

Xiansheng and Taitai are sitting next to each other, with Mei still resting next to her mother as Taitai has the back of her left hand on Mei's face as she checks her temperature. Mei hasn't woken up yet after the fight with Macaque and after MK had healed her, but she's resting alright. Sandy had went over to check on Mei if there was anything else serious, but (aside from the scratch on her left hand) she'll be okay. But, they'll have to wait until they get back to the T.E.A to properly treat the scratch on Mei's hand since as MK stated, his healing technique focuses on healing grievous injuries like Mei's stab wound.

Speaking of MK, he just been sitting on his seat with his arms on his knees...and he's been dead silent since he and the group had left Lantern City, which has everyone concerned. He's still shaken up upon witnessing Mei getting stabbed, and what he did to Macaque (even though MK knows in his mind that he did what he had to do to protect Mei and her parents from Macaque). But now, MK knows that Macaque being unconscious is now short-lived, as he can see from the window that the City of Lanterns is almost fully covered in ice-like crystals, alerting MK that Macaque is back on his feet and now has Bone Demon powers. So now, MK knows that that's when the Lady Bone Demon knows about the Samadhi Fire and Macaque is once again after them.

Pigsy then walked away from his window and went to check on MK.

Pigsy: "You okay, MK?" He asked MK in a concerned tone while placing a hand on MK's left shoulder. MK didn't answer and just stared at the floor, raising everyone else's concern.

Sandy: "He's probably still shaken up from what happened back there." He presumed.

Xiansheng: "Both of us as well." He added while gesturing to him and his family, as he interlocked his left hand with his wife's right hand, as Taitai uses her left sleeve to wipe the blood from the corner of Mei's mouth.

Taitai: "I nearly thought we were going to lose her." She said with a sad look on her face, while leaning on her husband's shoulder and places her left hand on Mei's shoulder.
