Wes's Pov:

I'm folding my last remaining hoodie when someone hugs me from behind and leans over on my back.

"I cannot believe you're already leaving."

"Meera, I'm only going for a month." I reiterated, turning around.

"You're missing my birthday." She pouted, shoving a stack of folded hoodies into my arms. "Also, here you go. All your fucking hoodies."

"Love, I only asked for three. You didn't have to bring all of them back." I said softly.

"Well you made it sound like you wanted them all."

"Hey, what's wrong?" I turned to look at her.

"You're leaving today, and I don't get to see you or talk to you for a month." Her eyes glazed over. "You're such a staple in my life Wes, I can't fucking sleep without you sometimes."

"It's okay, breathe." I pulled her into a hug, rubbing her back. "I love you, and we are going to get through this. I'm not going to war."

My grandpa and I are going to Russia for a month, a vacation and a wedding he has to attend. He decided to drag me along since my grandma cannot travel.

"Since I can't text you or call you, will you at least attempt to write me?" She asked softly, messing with the hem of her shirt.

"You don't even have to ask." As I zipped up my suitcase, I remembered I had to give Meera something. "Speaking of letters, I have something for you."

"What?" She asked, her head perking up.

I walked into my closet and pulled out a small wooden box that was hidden behind a shoe rack.

"Here," I gave the box to her. "Open this when you miss me."

"I miss you right now." She says, trying to unlock the box.

"What do you mean?" I raised a brow.

"Your head is obviously in Russia, your physically here but not mentally."

"Save the box for when I'm not physically around." I sighed, when she gave me a disappointed look. "Want a head massage?" I offered.

"Yes please." Meera said, sounding slightly happier.

I sat down on the edge of my bed and she plopped on the floor between my legs, leaning her head back into my lap. I ran my fingers through her hair, combing it before pressing down.

I could feel Meera dozing off so I gently woke her and got up.

"WES!" My mother yelled from downstairs.

"C'mon let's go downstairs." I said, grabbing my bags.

We both went downstairs, finding the whole kitchen and living room area decorated with goodbye decorations. "When did this happen?" I asked, looking around.

"This morning when you were holed up in your room," my mom informed me. "Meera has been over since seven in the morning."

"It's nothing, really." Meera added.

My mom left the room with my bag and I moved towards Meera. "I love you." I murmured, leaning down to kiss her. Midway through the kiss, I felt my face get wet. Pulling away from her, I saw tears running down her face. "If you cry, I'll cry." I sighed, kissing every single tear away.

"God I feel pathetic. I've been crying over every thing lately and these stupid heads aches make it so much worse." She groaned. "I'm sorry." She whispered, hugging me really tightly.

"Stop, stop." I wrapped my arms around her, equally as tight as she was holding me. "Do not apologize for that."

"Darling, I need you to breathe." I mumbled in her ear.

She shoved me in the arm, half laughing and half sobbing.

"Wes, time to go." Mom and dad both walked into the living room.

We all walk out to the driveway, and I place my backpack in the backseat.

My father gets into the drivers seat and my mother is closing up the trunk.

"Don't forget me for some Russian hottie." Meera says, crossing her arms.

"As if." I smirked. "I'll try to figure out how to call you from there. I want to see you on your birthday."

"I'm gonna miss you." She pouted.

"I'll miss you even more."

"We'll see, if I get hiccups then you'll have missed me."

"You still believe in that?"

"You don't?" She retorted. "Have a safe trip, Wes. I love you." She added, once I got into the backseat.

I left the door open and pulled her towards me. "I'm gonna miss you so so much. Do not forget that. I love you." I kissed her softly before closing the door.

Once the car was set, we waved goodbye to my mom and Meera who stood next to each other in the driveway as we drove off.

One month.
