The traffic moved comparatively slow today. All she wanted to do is walts out of here. Mahira held the steering wheel loosely. Next to her on the passenger seat is Riya, bobbing her head to the music. She just came back from Paris. She has been traveling to different places for work and has finally returned to India after 7 years. She intends to stay now.
Mahira just picked her up from the airport. They've been best friends since they were kids. Mahira has been to alot of Riya's shows over the years. The girl is a supermodel. People adore her but not more than Mahira, who herself is a very rich real estate agent. She handles high profile clients such as movie stars, cricketers, and such.
"When the hell is this traffic going to open up? I have to reach the agency on time, have the meeting and then go home and plant my face in my bed. The flight was exhausting."
"It's Mumbai baby girl. Traffic is what it's known for." Ofcourse Riya knew that, she grew up here afterall. She remembers it all. This city has never really been a good part of her story. She lost too much here. And even though it isn't exactly the fault of the city, she has just grown afar.
"Besides, now that we have time to talk and stuff, would you like to go out tonight? A club or something? Your face tells me you could use a hook-up." Mahira was tapping an impatient finger at the steering wheel. There isn't much else to do. Might as well plan to go to a party.
"No Mahi! I don't do hookups." Mahira blew out a raspberry at that.
"Your pussy probably has cobwebs on it by now."
"Fuck you bitch!" Riya throws a tissue at her friend's laughing face, since that was the nearest thing to grab. It fell before it reached her.
"I am just stating facts Riya. Since you don't do hookups and your last relationship was seven years ago. Damn baby, I pity that vagina of yours." Riya simply rolls her eyes and looks out the window. That is why she is back now. She got what she wanted to achieve. She became a model but the cost of that has weighed heavy on her heart.
Her heart that hasn't been hers for the last 8 years of her life. Because she gave it to him. Her Ishaan. But that changes now. She'll win him back. She knows he is single, she has kept tabs, and it's her time to win back the man she loves so much.
The car moves again, and Riya breaks out of her thoughts to look ahead. Her friend sighs next to her. She knows how much Riya loves Ishaan, she has seen them both together as well as apart, they're as miserable apart as they're perfect together. She has been friends with Ishaan for a long time. She has known him since before him and Riya were together. They were family friends.
She knows he isn't over her but he was the one to get his heart crushed, Ofcourse he won't give in easily but she also knows determination when she sees it. Her best friend wants her man back and she will stop at nothing.
Riya's phone rings and she finds an unknown number. She usually doesn't pick those up but something told her to do it this time.
Always listen to your gut.
