Chapter 50

Devon was tense, they still needed to go after the enemies. They didn't have time to spare. But his friend.Kevin was angry, too angry to even mind his surroundings, Devon never felt Kevin this furious kneeling beside his dead friend, although he should have seen this coming, Kevin couldn't help but blame himself. He loved his Pack. No matter what he wanted to believe in everyone. And at last Sasha did protect the Pack. She died fighting for the Pack

"Devon," Kevin sighed with rage in his voice , "Let's Kill them, Let's kill each and everyone of them, Let's make them pay.!"
The way Kevin shouted made Devon take a step back. He was shaking with anger.

"I couldn't even protect her, I failed as her Alpha," this time Kevin's voice is shook a little with desperation and frustration. "The least I could do for her is kill those who killed her!" he chokes on the last word, voice shaking

Devon can't bring himself to look up,  "Kevin..."
"I should have detained them sooner. Then she would have been alive." Devon shook his head. He couldn't let his friend waste away now. They needed his rage. As much as he wanted to console his friend, he couldn't.

"I understand, so we must leave her here for now. We must hunt them down as soon as possible," Devon spoke to his friend, waiting for him to digest the news.
Kevin blinks a few times, his eyes finally snap open and fix on him,
"There's no time for us to waste now we should leave and come back for her later." he's a hypocrite. Devon knew that. But they should not loose even a second a now. Sasha deserved so much more than that but They couldn't stop now.
Devon removed his shirt and to wrap the body of their dead comrade with it. As Kevin nodded in understanding.

It doesn't take much time for them to hide the body beside a few shrubs. And they ran around  the area, making their way towards Riverbank.

The way to the river is filled with eery silence but as soon as they reach the bank they could smell the foreign smells and the bristling voices of their enemy, Both the Alpha's  could almost smell  the killing intents with it. 

"Stay back, it's a warning!" Kevin's tone is firm and full of anger, void of any sentiment, "If you try to cross me and my friend here, we will take you on, leave our Pack, or we won't hold back " Kevin shouts.

Across the clearing, what looked like a man, dark skinned with luminous green eyes, rimmed in blue stared at them, the king of the Ravagers  looked intrigued.  He chuckled a little.

"If you want you can retreat!" Devon tries this time, even if the situation is impossible as it is, he won't give up, especially not here, he would try to prevent as much bloodshed as possible.

"Fight us and you will regret it, it's true you have mutant bastards with you, but our Pack also has strong warrior, we won't go down easy."
That gets the man's attention quickly.

"Your allies? You think they will die for you ? You are willing to die for them? Everyone betrays. That's the rule of the world. Sure you both look strong but there is no way you can take on us. Or me." Dellert spoke with a chuckle.

Devon took a sharp breath. "We don't know that, but that doesn't mean that we will give up." He shouted back "We don't want our Packs to suffer anymore than they already have. We allied for a cause. To protect our Packs and we will die protecting it."

Dellert chuckled. More sinister than before. And more voices could be heard. Dark, writhing shapes can be seen on top branches of the trees, and further into the forest.

Kevin shifted into his wolf seeing Devon do the same from the corner of his eye.

They both were strong, they knew that but it would take alot to stop the countless fiends. They watched the Chimera King motion for them to go ahead. Devon howled as he ran towards him jumping into the river. Kevin following him.
