Loss

Is been three months now.
The four eggs have been growing good so far.Revvit carefully wraps his body around the eggs each night as Ty watches the entrance to the cave.Once his mate is asleep,he backs against them to block them incase something comes in.Then he falls asleep. The other trux and tools didn't suspect a thing.All was normal and quiet.

Night came in the flatirons again.Revvit was curled up just beside the eggs when he caught the scent of something that startled him to his core.
His eyes shot open and he immediately shouted out,"Ty!"
The t-trux woke up right away and turned to face his mate,"Rev, what's wrong?!"
He watched as Revvit leaned his ear against the eggs and shined his high beams into them.
After a minute passes,Revvit sat down and went silent.
Ty was afraid to ask but his concern overpowered his thoughts,"Rev?"
The yellow tool hung his head as he slowly pulled two eggs from the nest. Revvit listened one more time and candled the them each twice but the sme was a huge give away.
Revvit hung his head and let out whimper as he stared at the eggs.
"Rev?" Ty said softly,his voice cracking this time.Revvit looked at Ty and he hung his head,"We lost them." Ty couldn't believe it.
"Are you sure,Rev.Check again."
The reptool whined again,a sound like crying coming from his whimpers,"Ty,they are gone."
Ty let out a whine and he hung his head.The t-trux rolled to the entrance of his cave and looked up at the stars as well as the ground and rocks around.He looked at anything,anything that would distract him from this terrible situation.

Soon enough,he felt a familiar tool climb up his tread and to the top of his head,"Rev,do you think the others-" Ty didn't finish his sentence.His voice cracked as he lowly bellowed.Revvit laid on top of Ty's head,"I do not know.All we can do is wait."
Ty quickly replied,"I'm scared for them.What if they--"
"Do not think that.We lost two.It hurts but we still have two more.We must hope for the best.We can not let this destroy us." Ty let out a long sad whine.Revvit sighed and looked around at anything that might distract him.

The loss was hard on the pair but for the sake of the others they kept their hopes up.
Rolling back into the cave,the two looked right at the eggs separated from the nest.
Ty leaned down for Revvit to climb on the platform and as he did the trux asked,"What do we do with them?"
Revvit gently placed a hand on one of the eggs,"I am unsure.Perhaps-"
The tool shook his head,unable to stomach the proposal.
Ty groaned knowing what Rev was thinking."Maybe-maybe it might be best if we knew?"
Revvit looked hurt by the reality of it and he sighed."Should we?" he asked.Ty took a deep breath,"I think--sigh--no,I can't..."

Revvit sighed and watched as Ty made a hole at the very back of his cave.He leaned over to Revvit and let him climb onto his head with the dead eggs.Carefully Revvit rolled the eggs to the hole and gently positioned them together to the center.The yellow tool climbed out and sat on top of Ty's tread to watch as the t-trux slowly covered the small eggs with dirt.
In seconds the eggs were buried.

Back on the platform,Revvit curled around his two remaining eggs and whined as he thought about the ones they had just lost.
Ty leaned against the wall for a while as he listened to the crying of his dear friend and mate.
He wanted to cry too but with Revvit being so torn by this he had to be strong and keep his composer.He leaned his face slowly towards Revvit.The tool whined and leaned his head against Ty's jaw.
The rumble of Ty's engine comforted the yellow tool and eventually the pair fell asleep.
