Allie had texted Victoria a lot the day she got her number. Obviously, she didn't respond much. When she was at work, Myla had asked her about her phone usage. "Allie, isn't your phone dead yet? You've been using it so much since..." Allie looked up from her phone and saw Myla with eyebrows raised and a sneaky smile. "Ah, uhm, well I mean-" "No need to explain. Although, I don't understand how you like her. She's so cold..." Allie looked away, flushed. "No, I'm serious this time. Really, what's so likable? She's so indifferent and so mean. She looks like she'd chew you out if you hugged her." "You don't know her." "And you do?" Allie frowned. "I'm sorry Al, I just don't want you to get hurt. Be careful." Myla shrugged, patted Al's shoulder and left. Was Myla right? Maybe Ma was indicating that she should give up. Should she?

When Allie went home, she checked her phone for any messages. 'Seen'. She sighed exasperated, suddenly understanding the feeling of people who she didn't reply to. Before bed, she texted Vicky. "Victoria, I'm going out on Sunday. Would you come with me?" This time, there was an immediate response. "Okay." Al grinned like a idiot. She had replied so fast when she invited her out. 'Get a hold of yourself, Al! You're thinking too highly of yourself', she thought. She wondered if she should atleast see Victoria tomorrow, but then scratched that idea since they'd meet in 2 days. Text? Maybe. Allie buried her face in her pillow, kicking her feet. She suddenly jumped up from her bed, getting a sudden urge to plan her outfit for Sunday. She ransacked her closet, and decided on something pretty yet casual. A simple & easy black crop top with 2 stars on it and baggy cargo pants. She tried it on, and felt it was good enough. She hung up the clothes in her closet, all ready. Allie jumped onto her bed and covered her face with her hands, and fell asleep like that.
