What the fuck is she doing here? I feel like everywhere I go, I see this woman.
I look her up and down as I see her in complete shock and she starts to look away as she tries not to be any more obvious than she already is.
I had to get away from things just to deal with this situation. Why did my mother send me here instead? I have no fucking clue.
Diana and Alejandro are our distant cousins on my mother's side. My mother thought she had no family except my aunt Eva until she became known, and family started to come by her side.
My grandmother, Estrella was pretty distant from her family because of her marriage to my grandfather, Rosario. She wanted nothing to do with them but she knew one day my mother would need them eventually.
So she left behind a list of who is family and isn't. So, no one could come to my mother and claim that they are a Santos, especially since the last name is pretty common.
Anyway, Diana has depended on my mother for a long time since she has a rocky relationship with her own parents. So I try to be very welcoming to my cousins as well.
It's the least I can do for my mother since she never really had a stable home and family. But now, we are that for her. I try to be the best son that I can but being a copy of my father can fucking ruin that image at times.
"Anyway what the fuck is the issue here?" I ask.
I see some woman which I'm guessing is the teacher, she keeps staring at me and I roll my eyes.
They are all the same.
"Uhh.. so sir.. Alejandro has been misbehaving and bothering another student. The student's guardian wants there to be consequences. But honestly now that you are here, this doesn't need to be any bigger than it is" she smiles at the end.
I see Elle look at her in disbelief at what she just said.
"Wait excuse me, you just told me that you would fix this? But now.. what now that's he's here, you won't do anything?!" her tone gets a bit louder.
The teacher looks at her with annoyance.
"Ms. Guzman, I will call security on you if you don't lose that tone" she says sternly.
I scoff. "So basically I came here for no reason then. Alejandro probably meant it as a fucking joke. Just give him a warning and move on. There was no point of me coming here".
I walk off at this ridiculous situation. I can't believe my mother sent me here for this. I am not his parent nor will I be one. Diana didn't need help for this.
As I head out, I go to my car and I get in. I check my phone and its a message from mom.
You are turning 21 in two days, you know what that means. I don't care if you have to pretend but you better have a partner by your side. Fake or whatever. My side of my family is coming and I need to show that Estrella didn't fail. ~ Mom
