5 years.

5 years since our lives have changed.

After turning 25, my life has been a roller coaster from 19 to now. I have also been with Reign for almost 6 years now. Throughout these six years, things have changed for the better.

Hailey had her son, she named him Archer Guzmán. She couldn't give her son the last name of the people who killed Rachel. That's not how we wanted to honor Rachel.
But Hailey has been the best mother, she really lived up to the words she said at the beginning. It has been a journey being an aunt to that little one. A fun journey.

Miguel is 19 now and he works along with Reign. It took me some time to allow it but he showed me that he wanted to be in the business. That he understood that being in this business is what he can do to make up for the guilt he will have forever. It is his way of being able to keep going.

Reign promised me that he would look after Miguel and make sure that nothing happens to him. But every day I remind Miguel that as long as he remembers who he is, that's all that I care about. This business is tough, and I can't lose another sibling to it.

Nathaniel is 16 and Mal is 11 now. After experiencing Miguel as a teenage boy, Nathaniel was a piece of cake. It was a struggle at times but we made it through. I always knew Nate would be the rebellious one and it was tough. He as well wants to be in the business after he turns 18, I'm still thinking about it.

It is already a headache to have Miguel in it and Reign in it, how many of my boys do I have to worry about?

As long as Mal doesn't get any ideas when he gets older, I'll be fine.

And Mal... these past 5 years were the hardest on him. Nate did well with the therapy but I think the acting out was also because of Rachel's death. He got into fights all the time while Mal became shy and quiet.

Nate and Mal also stopped being around each other. I know they have a 5-year age gap, but things were so simple before Rachel's death.

I knew it was going to hit them the hardest. She took them to school almost everyday, cared for them, cooked dinner whenever I wasn't home because I was working late at the diner. She was their best friend.

Slowly things have been getting back to normal. Mal is more of his old self and Nate isn't being much rebellious. Every year we visited her grave and it was emotional every single time.

But we did it. We stuck through it, no matter what.

Hailey moved out after Archer turned 2 years old, she got her own place and we made sure she stayed close to our area. It made me feel more secure knowing she was closer to us.

Miguel has been talking about moving out soon but I don't know if I can let another one go so soon. At least I still have Nate and Mal for a couple more years.

Rosalia and Francesco visits here and there. She and I have been bonding as if she was my mother and it has been an amazing experience. Definitely what I wished Francesca did with me, and stayed consistent with but I guess it wasn't meant to be.
