I look at him a bit shocked to see him here, right now but also I see him in a different light after reading that letter.
A very different light.
I walk right past him and into the back. I head into the bathroom and quickly lock it. I hear knocks on the door afterward and I stay quiet.
"Are we seriously playing this game Elle? Open the door" he says.
I stay quiet. Then I see the door knob being turned and boom it opened. What the fuck?
He walks in and shuts the door.
I shake my head. "What if I was naked? You can't just walk in here like you own me. You don't".
He looks at me confused. "I DONT own you. But I had my guards inform me of your escape. One thing about my security, they may get distracted or be stupid but they never miss a target".
I roll my eyes. "I'm a target now? What? Your gonna kill me now?".
He looks even more confused but I didn't care. His mother killed my aunt, I know it isn't his fault or doing but I can't see him the same.
"What is going on?" He questions.
I look away. "I don't need security. Only my siblings do. So it was pointless if you showing up here".
He looks me up and down. "I heard your sister just left, I will just take this as you being upset about her leaving. But other than that, I may not own you but you are under the Santos-Valentino name now. So it's different".
I laugh. "I want nothing to do with the Santos-Valentino name anymore. Honestly, I wish you didn't drag me into your mess, but I guess your family really does that huh?".
He steps closer. "I may have given you special treatment but one thing I won't take is disrespect to my family name. Get whatever shit you got going on together".
I smile sarcastically. "Of course sir, I'll do like how I'm always told to do".
He walks straight out with no response back to my remark. I don't know where that came from but I guess knowing the truth about this family is all I need to know.
I can no longer trust Reign or his family.
I leave the bathroom and I start my shift. I try to remain cool and collective so Xio won't notice.
