A few weeks has passed since I have last seen Reign. I know he had his files and our trip in France took most of his time. I did miss him, his company and his affection.
It was a highlight that changed my life and made it feel lighter throughout every overwhelming situation so far.
His phone has been turned off since it keeps going straight to voicemail and I'm nervous that he has ran away from everything we have been through these past few weeks.
As I'm serving my table, I almost drop a plate. I gasp as I grip it before it falls.
The customer looks at me kind of upset. "First you're taking long with my food and you almost drop it. What the fuck lady?!" He yells.
I try to stay calm. I drop his plate in front of him and I walk away. "Sorry".
I walk into the back and I sit down. I take a deep breath and try to stay calm.
"Elle... what's going on?" Xio ask.
I sigh and I look away. "Nothing... just... nothing".
She comes by my side and crouches down. She puts her hand on my hand. "You can tell me..".
I take a deep breath. "Fine.. I haven't heard from Reign in awhile and I guess.. I'm starting to doubt everything the last few weeks. I want to reach out but I don't want to seem needy. His men are still patrolling me but I feel like he could be pulling away. Maybe I scared him...".
She shakes her head. "You didn't. I actually was with Kol two nights ago. We went over to his place, he's swamped in files. He's crazy about you Elle, I don't think he's pulling away".
I nod. "Yeah.. you're right. I should.. get back to work".
I stand up and she stands up as well. "Let's have a girl's night, just us. No kids, no guys, just us".
I look at her. "We haven't had one in ages".
She laughs. "Exactly why we need to. Also your 20th birthday is very close. This is time for more fun, you have been crammed with shifts these past two weeks".
I nod. "Yes because going to France.. and seeing Reign and his family a lot took a lot of time away. But sure let's do a girl's night".
She smiles. "Good, I'll meet you at your place after this shift".
I nod. "Sure".
We head back to work and I try to focus on other things. Preferably not Reign.
