Avery's in the girl's bathroom hiding in a stall with Hanna and Spencer while Emily's washing her hands. A girl leaves the bathroom and the three of them walk out of the stall and Avery says, "Whoo, we got to find a better place to do this. Somewhere preferably with a fan." Emily says, "Good luck. We're going to have to dig a tunnel under the school." Hanna looks at Emily's hands and says, "Uh, yeah, not with those hands. You need some serious moisturizer." Spencer reads Emily's letter from the swim coach that wants her, and Spencer says, "This letter isn't that bad, Emily." Emily says, "It's bad." Avery says, "Look, won't your mom be impressed this scout even took the time to write?" Hanna gives Emily a lotion bottle and says, "Here, use this. It costs more than my purse." Emily says, "Guys, it's a, a maybe letter. My mom needs to see something real, something that says Let her stay in Rosewood. We want her. Don't take her to Texas." Avery says, "Em, there are other colleges." Spencer says, "Yeah, other scouts will want you." Emily says, "When? My mom's already packed up the whole kitchen. She keeps telling me how much I'm going to like the rodeo." They hear chatter outside the bathroom door and Avery says, "Let's just do this later, okay?" Hanna says, "Um, what about after school?" Spencer says, "I can't today. I've got field hockey." Emily says, "I have swim practice." Avery softly smiles and says, "I'm starting my class at Hollis." Spencer says, "Is Jackie going to be teaching it?" Avery says, "No, no, this is not about stalking. Ezra says it's over between them." Hanna says, "So, what, you're just going to hang around campus with binoculars?" Avery says, "I'm following our therapist's orders on having separate time, okay? It's an extension course. If I happen to bump into Ezra, that's just a bonus." Spencer says, "Oh, nice bonus." Hanna says, "Yeah, great. Everyone's got a life except for me." Avery says, "I thought you were going to go to the mall with Mona." Hanna says, "Stealing moisturizer is not a life. It's a hobby. It's getting really boring." Spencer looks at the lotion and says, "You stole this?" Hanna says, "No. It's a sample." A teacher walks in, and Spencer walks out the bathroom while Avery and Hanna go into a stall. Later, Avery meets up with Ezra at a coffee truck at Hollis and she says, "Hey, if I say I lost it, they'll let me re-take the picture, right?" Avery's talking about her Holli's ID photo and Ezra says, "Wait, why re-take it? It's perfect. You look very... studious." They then start walking to Avery's art class and Avery says, "It looks like a mug shot." Ezra says, "Yeah, like a very studious young lady from a prison laundry. I mean, that it is what you're going for, right?" Avery says, "Hey. Actually, when I was taking this, I was thinking about being released from prison. You remember that prison called high school, right?" Ezra says, "Ah, yes, I do." Avery says, "Do you miss it?" Ezra says, "Not it as much as you." Avery smiles and holds Ezra's hand, and she says, "Can I just say how nice this is, reaching for your hand and not worrying about who might be watching us?" Ezra says, "Uh, Avery, your dad does teach here three days a week." They stop walking and Avery says, "Yeah, I know, but Friday's not one of them." Ezra smiles and leans down to kiss Avery and Avery pulls away and Ezra says, "Bye." Avery smiles and says, "Bye." Avery walks into her pottering class and the teacher looks at her and says, "Oh, hey there. Just grab a smock. There's a couple spots in back." Avery grabs a smock and goes to find a seat when she almost drops her coffee because she sees Jenna. The teacher comes up from behind her and says, "Just go ahead. Take a seat." Avery takes a seat and gets started on her pot. Later, Avery goes to Ezra's and tells him about Jenna being there. Avery says, "Did she know that I was taking that class?" Ezra says, "She was there first." Avery says, "Why can't I just escape high school?" Ezra chuckles and says, "Probably 'cause you're still in it." Avery says, "Not helping." Ezra says, "Avery, maybe the universe is trying to tell you something. Maybe... you're in the class with Jenna so you guys can move on. You're both talented artists. You probably have a lot more in common than you think." Ezra moves Avery's legs from the couch, so he can sit on it and then he puts Avery's legs in his lap. Avery softly scoffs and says, "I just don't believe that Jenna's a very forgiving kind of person. Maybe I'll just take a painting class." Ezra says, "Look, do what you want. I'm just saying you can run, but you can't hide. If you're able to make things right with Jenna, why not do it?" Ezra then softly kisses Avery and then pulls away and Avery sighs.
