Avery and the rest of the four girls are walking on the sidewalk and Alison says, "So, what do you think, Em? Should Hanna be... Cute Britney or Bald Britney?" Emily says, "If she wants to be Cute Britney..." Alison says, "Avery?" Avery says, "She's not gonna shave her head." The girls chuckle and Alison sees Spencer on her phone and she says, "Spencer, you're worse than my father." Spencer says, "Sorry. But I did just procure nine votes from the debate team." Hanna says, "Wait, that's a good thing, right?" Spencer smiles and says, "Yeah, and, uh, procured means to obtain with special effort. And obtain means to gath--" Alison cuts Spencer off and says, "Are you gonna recite the entire dictionary?" Spencer says, "I think that Hanna should be who she wants to be." Alison says, "Fine. But you better wear the tightest skinny pants your big butt can fit into." Avery glares at Alison and says, "Alison." Alison rolls her eyes and then Emily's phone beeps and Avery smiles and says, "Ben?" Emily says, "He's all about me going as a sexy cop for Halloween. But I'm thinking Indian girl." The girls chuckle and Noel pulls up beside them and Alison says, "What a shame. All that testosterone and not a sheep in sight." Noel smiles and says, "Careful, Alison. See, I get your jokes but someday you might meet a guy who doesn't." Alison chuckles and Noel moves his eyes over to Avery and he smiles at her, and she softly smiles at him, and he says, "So, am I gonna see you at my party on Friday?" Avery says, "Uh, I didn't know we were invited." Noel says, "You're Ali's friends, right? Come prepared to be scared." Noel drives away and the girls all get excited and Hanna smiles and says, "Wait, did we get invited to Noel's Halloween bash?" Alison says, "I'm a little embarrassed by how excited you girls are. It's just a party." Spencer says, "Ali, it's not just a party." Avery says, "It's the party." Alison chuckles and says, "You're right. And I'm happy we'll be there together." They all giggle and walk away. Alison says, "We should all get ready together. Spence, you've got the biggest bedroom. Let's have it there." Spencer says, "Is that cool?" Hanna smiles and says, "Yeah." They walk by a creepy house and Emily says, "Hold up. I think there's somebody in there." Hanna looks at Emily and says, "Are you just trying to scare us?" Emily says, "No, I swear, I just saw someone in the window." Spencer says, "Well, kids go in there all the time around Halloween. It's like a rite of passage in this town." Avery says, "I wish they'd just tear this place down already. Every time I walk by here, I get the creeps." Alison says, "It's just an ugly old house, Avery." Avery says, "I can't explain it. I just... I don't know. I just feel like something really bad happened here." Spencer says, "There's nobody in there. Come on." They all walk away. Later, Avery goes to see her dad at Hollis, and she accidently bumps into a guy and she looks at the guy and says, "Sorry." Avery continues on walking away and she walks into her dad's office and puts his bag on his desk and grabs a sicky note and writes a note when she hears a voice say, "He's in a meeting." Avery turns around to see a woman laying on her dad's couch and Avery says, "Oh. yeah, I was just leaving him a note." Then her dad walks in and says, "Ah. Yes. I forgot my briefcase again." Avery says, "Yeah. Mom saw it in the kitchen." Avery looks over at the woman and her dad follows her gaze, and he says, "Oh, hey, Meredith. Didn't realize you were here." Meredith says, "I needed a quiet place to read. Hope that's okay." Byron nods and says, "Sure." Byron looks at his daughter and says, "So, um, wanna grab a coffee or something?" Avery says, "I can't. I promised mom I'd be home for dinner." Her dad says, "Okay." Meredith gets up and grabs her bag and looks at Byron and says, "Well, see you in class." Byron says, "You too." Meredith walks out the room and Avery says, "What's her story?" Her dad says, "Well, students crash here all the time." Avery chuckles and says, "Because you're so cool?" Her dad says, "Yeah, because I'm down with that." Avery chuckles and her dad says, "Oh, come on, give me a break."
