Song Recommendation: This Side of Paradise by Coyote Theory

Aiden and Aru got in the car and started driving to Kiran's house. "God, she's so excited to meet you, love. It's actually unbelievable." Aru said, laughing.

"Really? Why?" Aiden asked

"Well, it is her favourite granddaughter's first boyfriend." Aru replied

"Favourite? You're her favourite?"

"Yeah, we're the most alike and besides. Main kaun hoon tumse main kya kahoon. Hai sach toh yeh doston (How should I tell you as to who am I? Friends, the truth is...) ! I'm the best! I'm the best! I'm the best!" Aru sang, quoting Shah Rukh Khan from Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani.

Aiden started laughing, "I don't know. I mean, are you really the best?" he teased.

For dramatic effect and because of the red light, Aru slammed on the brakes, "What? How dare you!" She gasped in mock offence.

"What can I say, jaaniya? It's the truth!"

"Wow, just wow, I don't even know what to say right now!" Aru laughed as the light turned green.

The couple laughed as Aru pulled into her grandmother's driveway. Getting out of the car, Aru and Aiden walked to the front door where Aiden quickly fixed his already styled hair making Aru laugh. "You'll be fine!" She said,

Aru unlocked her door with her key and walked in, immediately the smell of Indian food and the sound of Punjabi music welcomed her.

"Nani! You in here?" She called out.

"Aru! Normally, I would get mad at you for being twenty minutes late but today I needed the extra time! Is he here? Why hasn't he said anything! You did bring him, didn't you? Or were you just trying to get me all busy?" Kiran yelled back from the kitchen - Aru could practically hear the joking smile on her face.

Aru laughed as Aiden paled, "Gods, I've already made a bad impression." He whispered, his eyes as wide as saucers.

"He's nervous, Nani! It's not everyday you meet your girlfriend's Nani!" She yelled back, taking off her shoes and putting them on the carpet; Aiden followed his girlfriend's example.

"Nervous!? Why is he nervous!? I'm so excited to meet the guy! It takes a lot to put up with you, beta!" Kiran exclaimed

Aru took off her leather jacket, hanging it in the closet. "Oh, puh-lease! I'm amazing!"

"Little fox, who are you lying to? Now come in the kitchen! I have rotis being made, I cannot come there!"

Aru laughed and took Aiden's coat from him. Together, they walked into the kitchen and saw Kiran have three rotis cooking on the stove as three more pots were cooking as well as making cha/chai and dancing bhangra.

Sometimes Aru wondered if her Nani had the super soldier serum injected into her with the amount of stuff she multitasked sometimes.

"Hello, beta!" She said as she stepped away from the stove and washed her hands. Once dried, she gave her granddaughter a huge hug.

"And you! So nice to meet you!" Kiran said, shaking her head from side to side.

Aiden touched her feet and smiled at her. "I'm Aiden, Aiden Acharya. It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Chandhan." Kiran looked at Aru in shock before hugging the life out of Aiden. "So nice to meet you!" she said, with a big smile on her face and after she pulled away.

"Although, I think you could find someone much much better. This is completely below you. I cannot believe you would settle for this." She said

Aiden paled. Oh f*ck, I knew it. She doesn't like me. This is terrible. Oh gods, will I see Aru ever again? he thought.
