Thirty-Nine

Third Person POV

"Aru! He's here! Hurry up!" Mini yelled up the stairs as she heard someone knocking at the door.

"Okay, okay, everything's gonna be fine. It's not like you're the love of your life's brother. And it's not like your entire relationship depends on this. No, definitely not." Mini mumbled to herself.

"You got it, you got this."

Opening the door, Mini gently smiled as a man turned around.

The man turned around to reveal messy dark brown hair that just hung over his eyes, caramel skin, dark brown eyes with light brown and blue streaks in them with long, dark eyelashes framing them. He was wearing black dress pants and a white dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his forearms and one button undone. He had a singular gold stud in his left ear and was wearing a gold chain. Mini could see a tattoo peeking out from his left chest area.

"Holy crap, he's gorgeous." Mini thought, "Not my type but damn, he definitely looks like Aru's type. But goddamn, he's beautiful."

"Hi, I'm Aiden. Aiden Acharya." The man said, flashing a bright white smile.

Mini faltered, "How am I supposed to impress this guy? He's gorgeous and he runs his own photography firm, that means he's smart. I'm just Mini Shah." one side of Mini's brain thought.

"Girl, shut the fuck up. You're Yamini 'Mini' Shah! You're stunning and smart. You can easily impress this guy." The other side of Mini's brain said, it distinctly sounded like Aru.

"Uh, hi! I'm Mini, come on in!" Mini smiled as she opened the door wider.

"Thanks, it's nice to meet you. Rudy talks highly of you." Aiden said, walking into the house and taking off his shoes, leaving him in his black socks.

"The pleasure is all mine, Rudy loves you a lot. One of the first things he said to me was how grateful he was to have a brother like you." Mini replied.

And as she led Aiden through the house, Mini couldn't help but think she knew Aiden from somewhere.

"He looks so familiar. And it seems like I've seen or have met recently too. Where do I know this guy from?" Mini thought to herself as she showed Aiden the living room.

"So, Mini, what do you like to do?" Aiden asked, as he and Mini sat down on the big grey couches.

"Uh, I like to crochet and do yoga. I used to do ballet so I still enjoy going to the studio often but I mainly like hanging out with my family, friends and Rudy. Not to say that I don't consider Rudy my family, I do, I'm gonna make this worse for myself so I'm gonna shut up now." Mini nervously laughed

Aiden let out a chuckle, "No worries, I get what you're saying. Rudy tells me you work at the hospital. What do you do?"

"I'm still in residency to be an OBGYN, someone who delivers babies. I work there with my two best friends. Oh crap! I have to meet them in twenty minutes! Uh, I'm really sorry to leave you here but I have to go." Mini panicked, standing up abruptly.

"Oh, no worries. I understand, don't worry." Aiden replied, slightly smiling. "Mini is quite the character. She seems good for Rudy." Aiden thought to himself

"Oh God, I'm really sorry. Uh, my sister's upstairs and she should be down soon. Sorry, it was really nice to meet you and I hope you have a good day. Sorry!" Mini said, grabbing her bag and running out the door, "I'm really sorry!"

Aiden laughed slightly before sobering up as he looked around the living room. It had high ceilings and walls that were painted a light purple. There were pictures on the walls of Mini's family and the living room connected to the kitchen.
