And so, Rudy did call Mini the next day and the two started dating. While Noah and Aru knew that Mini was dating Rudy, they had never officially met Rudy; sure, they had heard stories about the infamous Rudy Acharya but hadn't met him or his family.

When Mini had told Aru and Noah they were officially dating, the reactions were, well, mixed.

"So, Rudy and I are officially dating." Mini had said one day when the twins were at school.

"That's great, Min, from what you've told us about him, he seems like a great guy." Aru exclaimed as she playfully bumped Mini's shoulder while she was cleaning the dishes.

"Yeah! But one question I have to ask is what is his actual name? Like, there is no way a parent - let alone an Indian parent - would name their kid, 'Rudy'." Noah said, chuckling slightly.

"Oh yeah, his name is Rudra Acharya." Mini replied, jumping up and sitting on the counter.

Aru froze and dropped her sponge while Noah had freezed from where he was cutting up vegetables. Not even a second later, the duo continued doing their tasks as normal. However, Aru seemed much more tense than before.

"Fucking hell, she really just said that, didn't she?Acharya?" Aru murmured under her breath before saying it louder, "Acharya?"

"Yeah, why? Is that a bad thing? Do we have a vendetta against all Acharyas or something?" Mini asked, laughing.

Aru awkwardly laughed, "Uh, no, I just knew an Acharya a long time ago and we, uh, let's just say it didn't work out."

"Yeah, it turned out that they weren't the best people so just hearing that name again," Noah sighed, "Let's just say it brought up a lot of unwanted memories." Noah continued as Aru nodded.

"Oh, uh, what happened?" Mini asked

"It's not important." Aru replied

"Yeah, it doesn't matter." Noah added

"Aru, what happened? Noah?" Mini repeated, more insisted this time.

"I said, 'it's not important'. Just, please drop it, Mini." Aru snapped, slightly more aggressive than she had meant to.

Seeing Mini's shocked face, Noah went in to do damage control. "Listen, Mini, the last, uh, relationship, with an Acharya we knew didn't turn out well. And he hurt Aru - and I - but more specifically Aru, really bad. So, it was just a shock hearing the name again. Aru didn't mean to snap, she just was surprised." Noah said, "Right, Aru?"

"Exactly, sorry, Mins. I shouldn't have snapped at you. I was just surprised." Aru added

"Oh ok. It's alright, I shouldn't have pushed." Mini replied.

The siblings stood in silence, the only sound in the room was the running water from the tap.

"I'm sure Rudy is fine." Aru said as Mini asked, "is Rudy okay, though? Like, is it okay if I continue to date him?"

Laughing, Aru nodded, "I'm sure Rudy is a nice guy. Of course you can continue to date him. One bad interaction cannot contradict us for the rest of our lives."

"Are you sure?" Mini asked, looking at both Noah and Aru.

"Yeah, of course, Y." Noah said as Aru nodded.

"Thanks guys. I really appreciate it." Mini said, bumping Noah's shoulder and hip-checking Aru.
