Four days later.
Maldives.

"This is heaven," Valentina mumbled as she brought the fruit to her mouth. The breakfast tray floated on the water between her and Valerius. This was the last destination of their vacation, and she was savoring every bit of it.
Valerius swam near her, placing his arms on the wooden platform behind, caging her between his body, "You look like heaven," His eyes trailed over her one-piece bikini, the golden shade highlighted her tan skin, making Valentina appear unreal.
She placed her arms around his neck, playing with the tendrils of his hair, "You and your compliments," She smiled, keeping her eyes locked with his. Valerius lowered his mouth slowly and captured her lips in an intense kiss.
"Only for you," He said against her mouth. His hot breath fanned her face and she trailed her hands over his chest, placing them on his rock-hard abs, "As tempting as you look," Valentina pushed her body against his, "I need to finish my breakfast," She swam from underneath his arms and towards the center.
Valerius splashed his hands against the water, "Seriously?"
Valentina grabbed a cherry and popped it in her mouth, slowly, making him watch her every move, "Seriously."
"Seductress," Valerius muttered, shaking his head, as in to clear out of the trance he was in.
Valentina giggled catching his attention, "Here," She held the fruit to his lips and fed him. Valerius swam behind her and wrapped his arms around Valentina, "I love holding you," He murmured, pressing a kiss to her temple.
"I love being in your arms," She tilted her head back and whispered, pecking his lips once and then twice, "I feel like I belong in them"
"You do," Valerius affirmed, "Only you do,"
Valentina grabbed a slice of the apple and took a bite, "I will say this again," She spoke, "You are too romantic for a Don."
Valerius leaned forward and ate the half-eaten apple directly from her fingers, "There is only one woman for whom I will be a romantic,"
"Really?" Valentina asked mischievously, "Who?"
Valerius smirked at her and creased his brows, pretending to think, "Well her name is -"
"Valentina," She finished, giggling. Her arms went around his neck as he hoisted her up in his arms, "Damn right, baby." Valerius said as he twirled her around, her feet kicked in the water, making it splash on them, and this only made her laugh more.
Valerius smiled, a full-blown smile at her, and Valentina felt the air leaving her lungs. He was beautiful, but he looked even more handsome when he smiled. She halted in his arms and simply stared at him, Valentina raised her hand slowly and caressed his cheek, "You look like heaven."
_
Valentina gazed at the water as it crashed against her feet. The sun was setting slowly, and the evening was quiet. The silence loomed around her, there were no other people to be found as Valerius had reserved the beach for the night.
After they returned from their visit to a local island, Valerius had excused himself and he still hadn't returned. Valentina was beginning to worry but before she could move to look for him, she felt his familiar embrace.
"Missed me?" Valerius asked as he placed his chin on her shoulder.
Valentina swayed lightly, hearing light music playing from somewhere, "How could I not?" She answered. His strong cologne hit her senses, making her smile; she had always loved his scent.
"I was just a little busy," Valerius said, loosening her hold from her waist.
Valentina grew confused, "With what?"
"With this," He removed his arms and she turned around to ask him the reason, but immediately stopped. Valentina felt her breath hitch when she saw Valerius on one knee, holding a velvet box in his hands. Her eyes moved towards the orchestra playing in the background, the slow tune filling the silence of the evening.
"Val," Her lips quivered when it all settled in.
This was happening.
"Valentina," Valerius started, the smile she loved appearing on his face, "Every time I see you, I fall in love with you all over again. You are my universe, mio cuore. I can not think of a life without you, and neither do I want to. You are my heart, my soul, and my entire existence. All I want is you, ti amo tanto," Valerius opened the box, taking the diamond ring in his fingers, "Will you marry me?"
Valentina let the tears roll freely down her face, "Yes," She whispered, "Yes, I will marry you."
She presented her hand to him and Valerius slid the ring on her finger, kissing her knuckles as he rose from the ground. Valentina let out a laugh when they embraced, holding on to each other tightly. She closed her eyes as Valerius placed a kiss on her forehead, savoring the moment.
Valentina smiled at him as he wiped the tears from underneath her eyes, "No more tears, wife."
"As you say, husband." She giggled when Valerius cupped her face and pressed his lips to her, claiming her mouth. Valentina kissed him back with the same ferocity, pouring her heart and soul into it.
They fit together like two missing pieces of a puzzle, molding perfectly. His heart beat frantically, matching the pace of hers. Valerius fisted her dress in his hands, pulling her, even more, closer to him. Her fingers dug into his skin, clutching him tightly.
He was all she wanted.
Valerius pressed his forehead against hers as they pulled away slowly.
"My wife," He murmured, pressing another kiss to her lips, "My Donna."
Valentina pulled him closer, "My husband," She whispered against his lips, "My Don."
"Always yours," Valerius promised.
"Forever yours," Valentina vowed.
-
They are going to be husband and wife. I am going to cry.
