I cried myself to sleep that night, knowing everything that had happened with Gerard was too good to be true. Not even a test message from him.

Waking up on Saturday was harder than usual. I walked into the hall to smell coffee and the clinking of dishes being washed. My mom was home this morning.

"Frankie? Is that you?" I smiled, I loved mornings like these. "Yeah I'm up."

"How's my beautiful son I haven't seen you in forever. I'm so sorry I've been working my ass off lately."

"Could be better. Could be worse. But it's okay." She smiled, but it was a tired smile that didn't stretch to her eyes. She was tired and sad, I hated seeing her this way.

"How's Gerard?" I looked down, without speaking, I shook my head. She walked over and hugged me as I started to cry.

"I'm sorry honey. Whatever he's done you didn't deserve. I'll kick his ass." I laughed and she ruffled my hair. "Go back to bed, I'll make you some pancakes and bring them up and we can talk."

I nodded and walked upstairs. I got under my covers and layed down. My foot touched my phone and I grabbed it. Four new messages.

Mikey: Frank, we need to talk in person. ASAP.

Mikey: Frank answer me!

Ryan: Hey how you feeling?

Pete: Yo bitch where you at?

Always count on Pete with the ridiculous grammar. I answered Mikey first.

Me: What??

Then I answered Ryan.

Me: I'm alright.. Can we talk in person later I have stuff to tell you.

Lastly I answered Pete.

Me: Whatttttttt???

As I sent the last text there was a knock at my door. My mom brought in pancakes covered in syrup and an orange juice next to it.

We sat on the bed talking about what had happened at school all the way up leading to what happened last night. Leaving out the details she didn't need to hear.

"I'm so sorry honey. Don't let him hurt you like that, you don't deserve it." I smiled as she took the plate from me. "I'm gonna be home more this week. They gave me a raise and normal hours instead of shift after shift. I don't have to miss my baby boy grow up any more than he his."

"Love you mama." She smiled as she walked out the door. "Love you too Frankie."

I looked at my phone to find three new messages.

Mikey: Look dude I need to talk to you I'll be over in 20

That was ten minutes ago. Fuck. I didn't bother to respond.

Ryan: Yeah, just tell me when and I'll be right over.

Pete: I got stuff to tell you. We gotta talk.

I'm tired of these people. Let me cry in peace, damn. I layed down and closed my eyes for two seconds when I was woken up by a knock at my door. "Come in." I said into my pillow, with barely any energy.

Mikey walked in a tore all the covers off of me. "What the fuck was that for?"

"Did you even bother to call my brother last night after he didn't show up?! Weren't you worried about him at all?"

I sat in silence staring at him. He still had cuts on his face, that were as bad as mine, but we're fading just as fast.

"He's been fucking excited about it, okay, he walked home all giddy and happy, talking about what he was going to wear."
