I was sitting in the kitchen, emptying the remnants of my tea, waiting for Lena, our babysitter, to arrive. It was early in the morning, 6 am, James was still asleep, yet I had to go and do that damn interview on GMTV. Why I had agreed to this I still didn't know and my mind had changed multiple times until the final decision was needed.

I was nervous, and not only a bit. I still hadn't heard from Gary other than on the radio, but I understood that there was no phones available and I still knew that he was okay.

The doorbell rang and I opened the door for Lena, smiling at her "Morning, thank you so much for coming at this time of the day."

She smiled back "It's fine Mrs. Barlow, honestly. Good luck with the interview, I'll definitely tune in, well if I'm allowed too."

I chuckled "Of course you are. Well I have to go now, so see you soon."

I quickly grabbed all my things, left the house, got into my car and made my way from Kensington to South Bank.

Seeing as it was the beginning of rushhour already it took me 45 minutes to get to the ITV studios, but I still got there on time. I stopped the car at the gate where some security was.

I downed the window "Morning!"

The officer nodded "Good morning. Who are you and why do you need to enter?"

"I'm Clara Barlow and I have an interview on GMTV."

The officer took a look at his computer and at my ID, then nodded and opened the gate for me "Thank you. There will be someone at the door to greet you."

I drove further down the driveway and parked the car in a free space near the front door of the building, which suddenly seemed so much bigger and in a way intimidating as I exited my car, making me more and more nervous.

As I got closer to the doors a woman of approximately the same age as me came outside, smiling "Mrs. Barlow?"

I nodded "That's me."

She extended her hand "Ah wonderful. Welcome to ITV Studios. Thank you for coming. I'm Helen, I will basically be your assistant for today, making sure you are at the right place at the right time and all. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask."

I shook her hand "Well thank you. I'm quite nervous to be honest..."

"Don't be. Now come on we need to get you into hair and make-up."

I nodded and followed her through the big, heavy-looking glass doors into the building. We walked through a marble floored hallway towards a lift, which quickly brought us up to the 4th floor.

As we got out of the lift it was as if we had entered the Mall during the Jubilee. Everyone was hushing around, making sure everything and everyone was at the right place at the right time.

Helen turned to me, seemingly sensing my astonishment "Don't worry we're perfectly in time, it's always like this back here. Just need to make sure there are no delays! Come on."

We walked a few feet further and then entered a smallish room.

"Good morning Cheryl!" Helen said as she stepped inside, making a young woman turn around, who I guessed was Cheryl.

"Oh, morning Helen!" She then saw me "Good morning, Mrs. Barlow, right?"

I smiled and nodded "Yes, that's me."

"Well come on in, I'll get you ready for the show."

I went over and sat down on an uncomfortable-looking chair which was placed in front of a brightly lit mirror. I watched her as she started to lay out some things in front of us before she turned back to me and studied my face.
