Chapter 56

Amandas POV:

Today is 20th December which means Kristy is officially 18 years old. I woke up extra early to make her, her favorite breakfast. She loves chocolate chip waffles. I put on my robe and quickly head to the kitchen, I check the time on my wall clock hanging above the TV set; It's 7:45am. I begin to make Kristy her favorite breakfast, I'm making two large waffles. After they are cooked, I cut up strawberries and place them on top of the waffles and add whipping cream to the waffles. I set up the dining room table with knives and forks, made two hot chocolates, and placed them on the table. I walk back to the living room and check the time; It's now 8:30am, time to wake Kristy up.

I race up to her room and kneel down to her "Happy birthday Kristy" I kiss her cheek and she wakes up "What time is it?" She asks me sounding groggy "It's now 8:33am, I made you your favorite breakfast" I giggle "Chocolate chip waffles" She beams "Yes" I nod and she quickly races out of bed "We're gonna have a fun day today so after breakfast, get dressed, we are heading out" I tell her as we head down to the dining room "I can't wait" We sit down around dining table "Now I was gonna wait to give this to you later but" I reach in my pocket of my night robe "here" I pass her a 50% off Sephora gift card "Oh my god, I love Sephora" Kristy literally lights up and squeals "Thank you so much" Kristy gives me a tight hug "Knock yourself out today when we shop at Sephora and then we'll have lunch anywhere you like" I smile at her "So far the best birthday ever" Kristy giggles and we start eating breakfast "This is so yummy" Kristy smiles "I'm glad you like it" I take a sip of my hot chocolate.

We head to the mall and immediately Kristy walks her way inside Sephora, I gave her a thousand dollars prior going to the mall. My job pays me suitably. Since it's almost Christmas, Dre gave everyone bonuses for our hard work all year round. I want Kristy to have a great birthday today. My phone vibrates inside my purse and I reach inside for it, I grab my phone and check the caller ID; It's Marshall, I answer "Hey Marshall" I smile "Hey baby, I called in cause I wanted to wish Kristy a happy birthday and also because I got her a gift that I shipped out yesterday" Marshall tells me "That's lovely Marshall, you didn't have to do that" I giggle "I wanted to, I know her and I are not in the best place right now because of how I treated you but I still want her to feel special on her birthday" He's so sweet for this "When's the package coming?" I ask him "Around 2pm, I can push it a little later, I know who the delivery man is" Marshall tells me

"Can you push it to 4pm? I'm out with Kristy right now at Sephora then I'm gonna have lunch with her" I tell Marshall "Sure, I'll call the delivery guy" Marshall informs me "Thank you Marshall" I smile "Anything for you babe, I have to go" Marshall says "Kim is dropping the girls off at my place til Hailies birthday" Marshall continues "Okay babe, have a good day with the girls" I smile "You too" I hang up the phone and walk over to Kristy "Who was that?" Kristy asks me as she looks at the makeup collection "That was Marshall, he wished you a happy birthday and even got you a present" I tell her "I know I've given Marshall a hard time but I'm still not ready to fully accept him in our lives but I appreciate him buying me something" Kristy smiles "What do you think of this lipstick?" She asks me as she picks up a dark red lipstick "You love red" I laugh "You should get it" I nod.

We finished shopping and if I tell you guys how much Kristy spent, you would need medical attention. We are at pizza hut since Kristy was craving pizza, and honestly, we haven't had pizza in months. Kristy said to me tomorrow she'll be celebrating her birthday with her friends, she hasn't told me about Chase, I don't know if they are okay and I don't feel like asking her since it's her birthday. We are sat at the booth and Kristy's phone buzz on the table, she picks it up and rolls her eyes "It's Chase isn't it?" I ask her "Yup and he needs to get the hint that I want to be left alone like he left me alone" Kristy says with attitude "What did he say?" I ask her "He wished me a happy birthday and wants to "talk" things out" She air-quotes talk "I think you should hear him out" I advise Kristy "Why? So he can lie to me?" She asks "You'll never know what he has to say if you don't hear him out" I tell her "Yah no thanks" She is so stubborn.

We finish having lunch and we hang around a bit at the mall and chill out at the park. We head home and I hear a knock on the door as I'm sitting with Kristy in the living room watching a movie. I get up and walk to the door, I open it and see the delivery man standing outside my door with a clipboard and a box "Are you Miss Amanda Vanderwall?" He asks me "Thats me" I nod "Please sign here" He passes me the clipboard and I sign it, I pass it back to him "Here you go Miss Vanderwall" He passes me the package "Have a good rest of your evening" He smiles at me "You too" I smile at him and close the door "Marshall's gift for you has arrived" I walk over to Kristy "Can I open it?" Kristy asks me as I set the box down with another box and a gift bag on the coffee table "Not yet, you still have to blow your candles out" I tell her as I walk my way to the kitchen and grab 1 and 8 candles.

I place it on the cake which is on the counter "Go to the dining room" I yell as I grab a lighter and light the candles up. The room is dark and I walk my way over to the dining room singing Happy Birthday, Kristy has a bright smile on her face as I set the vanilla/chocolate cake on the table "Make a wish baby" I smile at her as I begin to record her blowing out the candles "Woohoo" I cheer "My baby girl is 18 years old" I giggle "I'm getting old Amanda" Kristy laughs as I end the recording and starting passing her, her presents. I give her first Marshalls gift and she opens it, the first thing she pulls out is a box containing a Chanel Perfume Bottle, the second thing she pulls out is a Sephora black velvet box, she opens it up and reveals a silver necklace with the first letter of her first name. Last thing she pulls out from the box is a birthday card, she opens the birthday card and $100 falls on the dining table "What does the card say?" I ask her as I record "It says "Happy Birthday Kristy, I can't believe you're 18 years old. It feels like just yesterday I was playing with 10-year-old you and tucking you in at night. You were such a sweet little girl, you had no idea how much I loved you, I saw you as my baby sister. I hope you have an amazing birthday baby girl, love Tinkerbell haha"" Kristy grins from ear to ear "He's so funny" Kristy laughs.

Kristy opens my gift box and reveals an outfit I brought for her and a knee-high plum color dress with sparkles and a pair of heels to match it "I love it, thank you so much" Kristy smiles at me and then she grabs the bag, she looks through it and pulls out car keys "You got me a car?" She asks me "Yes, it's 2000 Mercedes- Benz SLK 200 Kompressor" She lights up like a Christmas tree "Oh my god that's my dream car" Kristy squeals "Thank you, thank you so much" Kristy leaps off her chair and gives me a super tight hug "Anything for you baby" I hug her tightly. It's safe to say this birthday was a success.
