POV Natasha

I snort the last bit of the powder. The empty little bag I put in my pocket. I smile by the numb feeling in my throat. I clean my nose with my hands.

It's 6 in the morning. I folded all of my clothes neatly in my suitcase. Quietly I try to close it.
I grab my jacket and with my suitcase in my hands, lifted from the ground I open the door.

I hear Yelena snoring. She lays in her bed with her clothes still on. I put the note I wrote on the table next to her.
I squeeze my eyes when the front door creaks, but luckily it doesn't wake her up.

Through the tall grass I walk towards the road. I can't see where I'm walking, it's still completely dark. My taxi driver is already there. I told him he couldn't be late. I'm glad he listened to me.

'Good morning.' He says when I take a place behind him. I just nod. I don't feel like talking with the stranger.
I sigh when we drive away from Yelena's home. I stayed the day after our conversation, but I didn't want to risk Wanda showing up again. Yelena is too important for me to create more drama around her.

After an hour drive, the sound of my phone interrupts my thoughts. I frown when I see Steve calling.

'Romanoff.'
'Rogers.' I answer.
'We have a lead on Emerald. He's in Amsterdam. Fury wants you on the mission.'
I sigh. 'Why isn't Fury calling me?'
It's silence for a second. 'Because he thought that I could better convince you.'

'Classic.' I say.
'Where are you?'
'I already was on my way to the compound.'
Steve laughs. 'That's a short 'few weeks' he says.
I raise my brow and asks: 'weeks?'
'Yes, Fury told us you would be away for weeks.'

'No. Just a couple of days. I'm there in two hours or something. We'll discuss the mission when I arrive.'

'See you then.' Steve closes the call.

The hyped, happy feeling completely vanished when I arrive. I want to take more, but I know how Clint would've react to that. And not to forget Wanda. She would've been way angrier than she already is.

I nod to the taxi driver as I walk away from the taxi cab. He waves and drives away.
With my suitcase in my hand, I walk towards the compound.

I see Steve standing before the building, his arms crossed before his chest.
He smiles. 'Romanoff.' He nods.
'You missed me?' I say grinning.
'You were away for not even a week.'
I smile. 'Exactly what I mean. You missed me.'
He shakes his head as he smiles.

'I'll go change. See you in a minute.'

-
In my suit I walk into the meeting room. Steve sits on the head of the table, besides him Maria, Sam, Clint and Bruce.

'You're back.' Bruce says while he winks at me. I smile and sit down in silence. I ignore the way Clint looks at me.
'So.. we will go tomorrow morning. The flight is planned early, so we leave around 7 here.' Maria says.

'Is he still active in Amsterdam?' I ask her.
She nods. 'Yes, he is seen a couple of times on the same spot. The location isn't that accurate, but it seems like it's near an hotel.'
I want to say something, but the sound of the door interrupts my attempt to speak.
