Better This Way

BIBLE

Bible was sobered up now, though he had been only tipsy the night before. He was fairly certain he had confessed his feelings to Build, but he wasn't sure if Build had actually heard him.

As Bible woke up beside Build, he quickly changed clothes and nudged Build awake.

"Hey, Build, let's go for a run," Bible said, tapping his arm.

Build yawned and sat up, his hair tousled and sticking out in all directions. Bible found him adorably messy, and he almost wanted to take a picture to share on Twitter, just to show off how cute Build looked.

"Run?" Build asked, rubbing his eyes.

"A morning exercise, yes, a run," Bible clarified.

Build got up and headed toward the bathroom but nearly slipped. Bible rushed to support him, grabbing his hands.

"Careful," Bible said softly.

Build smiled at him as Bible helped him into the bathroom.

"Thank you. Now, shoo," Build said, closing the door.

Bible found himself smiling at Build's response.

He reassured himself that keeping his feelings to himself was the right decision. Love could wait; it would find him when he was ready.

A few minutes later, Build emerged from the bathroom half-dressed and pouting.

"Should I wear this? Or this?" Build asked, holding up two different tops.

One was a white sleeveless top, and the other was a blue T-shirt.

"Wear whatever you're comfortable with," Bible said.

"Okayyy," Build said, choosing the blue shirt and heading back to the bathroom.

"Let's goooo," Build called out cheerfully as he reappeared.

Bible stifled a laugh when he saw Build dressed in a cap, a sweater under his shirt, and a mask covering his face.

"Why are you wearing that?" Bible asked, struggling to hold back his laughter.

"You told me to wear what makes me comfortable," Build said, playing along."Are you a ninja?" Bible teased.

"Let's go, Nong Bible," Build teased back, using the term they had agreed to drop but now used to joke around. It always made Bible stop in his tracks....After their run, they decided to stroll along the seaside. The sun hadn't risen yet.

Bible pulled out his phone to take a video, updating their group chat about their morning together. It wasn't for fan service; he enjoyed the idea of fans shipping them.

Soon, rain began to fall, and they sought shelter in a nearby shaded area where their cameramen were waiting.

"Let's take a video of you two for content," one of the cameramen suggested.

Bible and Build agreed, pretending to have a conversation for the camera.

"Is it done?" Build asked, not facing the camera.

"Yep, done," the cameraman replied.

Build chuckled, and they continued their walk as the rain began to taper off.

"Fun fact," Build said suddenly.

"I hate fan services. They give fans the wrong idea. I do appreciate how they keep shipping us, but this fan service makes it seem like we're more than just colleagues. I don't want them to find it hard to let go of the ship someday," Build explained.

Bible didn't disagree. He also disliked fan services for the same reason.

"Hmm, I think you're right," Bible said.

Build continued, looking visibly fed up. "You know, I like being together like this, without cameras and paparazzi. I'm tired of being asked to pose like a couple. I just want to have privacy and talk like normal people."

Bible felt a pang of hurt. It was unclear if Build was expressing frustration with fan services or if he didn't want to be seen as a couple, which made Bible's heart ache.

Bible was lost in thought, stopping in his tracks.

Build looked back at him with concern.

Bible walked closer but kept his distance.

As they continued walking, the breeze felt refreshing.

"To be clear," Build said quietly, "I think we're better off this way, just the two of us, having normal conversations and being comfortable with each other's presence."

Bible knew it was best to keep his feelings hidden and continue acting as a normal colleague.

It was the best way to maintain their relationship, even if it meant suppressing his emotions.
