Steve POV
I've canceled my date with the girl from yesterday, I considered calling Eddie but I'd rather do this in person. I want him to know that I really am sorry about us fighting
I arrive at his place pretty early and knock on the door, I don't know if he's going to school today but if he is I wanna catch him before he goes. After a moment he opens the door and looks at me "Steve what-"
"Shut up and just listen to me for a second, I'm so sorry about us fighting and everything I did wrong, I don't want to just be friends, I don't know you that well and we haven't known each other that long but I like you, like I can't get you out of my head and I wanna be with you all the time, so please.. give me a chance, I want to help you and support you and listen to you rant about a silly fantasy game for hours cuz I think you're adorable when you get excited about it and I think you're adorable"
He looks at me for a moment before hugging me tight and burring his head in my shirt, it sounds like he's crying but I can't tell. I wrap my arms around him "are you ok.." I ask softly
"I'm a horrible person" he mumbled "I couldn't done something to stop her, I knew it was a bad idea but I gave it to her anyway and now she's dead" he rambles in a panicked tone
I gently take a step back and hold his face "hey it's ok, take a deep breath, now who's dead?" I ask calmly
"Chrissy.." he says quietly "we met up last night cuz she wanted to buy some drugs.. she asked for something stronger, i knew it was bad but I gave it to her anyway and this morning she's ok the news and she's dead because of those stupid drugs"
I tuck his hair behind his ear "that's not your fault Eddie, you just did what she wanted and she used it in a bad way, you had no idea she would do that and if you hadn't given it to her, chances are she was feeling bad enough and would have found another way to do it.." it doesn't horrible talking about Chrissy like this, it's not her fault either, she was just struggling and didn't know what to do, but I know it's not Eddie's fault either.
"So you don't think I'm a murderer?" He mumbles
"No, of course not" I move closer again and hug him tightly "you're not a bad person Eddie" he wraps his arms around me and leans against my chest
"I like you too by the way" he says softly after a minute "and yes I wanna date you" he looks up at me and smiles "even if you are an ass" he smiles
I laugh and kiss him softly "you're so stupid" I tease and pull him into my arms again.
Eddie POV
So I guess me and Steve are dating then. Thats pretty cool, we're gonna to go out tonight after Steve's shift, I have no idea what to wear, even though most of my clothes are black.
I wonder if he'll sleep over after, if he does I'll need to clean my room a bunch. I clean my room up so it looks nice then get dressed, I put on a Metallica shirt then put on my rings and chains. I look in the mirror maybe I should tie up my hair? I tie it up, it looks fine.. I can always take it out.
I turn on the tv and there's another big news story, this time not about Chrissy, some guy got eaten alive but some weird animal. Ugh people in this town are always dying it's like a curse.
I hear my phone ringing so I get up to open it, when I do steve is there "Eddie you don't have any raw meat in your fridge so you?"
"Uh no.. why?" I ask
"Ugh Dustin needs it, but it's fine I'll just go with him tomorrow to get some"
"Wait why does Dustin need it? The hell if that kid doing?"
"Oh did you see the news.. that animal was something from the upside down I'll explain it later ok?"
"Uh yeah ok.. are we still on for tonight?"
"Definitely, I'm literally counting down the hours" he laughs lightly
"Clearly you haven't had date in awhile if you're that desperate" I tease
"Am I desperate or I'm love?"
"You better be desperate cuz saying I love you before the first date is kinda embarrassing for you" I smile
He laughs "desperate it is then" we kinda just sit there for a moment in awkward silence for a minute before he says something "well I should go.. I'll see you soon"
I smile again "yeah see ya"
