Steve POV
On Saturday dustin calls us all to tell us we're meeting at Will's place at 10. The only problem with that is getting Eddie awake and ready by then. He's still asleep right now and it's almost 9. I go to his kitchen and make a cup of coffee before walking back over to him and gently shaking his arm "hey, you need to get up pretty soon" I say something
Eddie just groans and mumbles something then rolls over with his back to me. I sigh and put the coffee next to the bed "Eddie come on, you can sleep in tomorrow I promise but we need to go soon" he kiss his head gently
He rolls back over and half opens his eyes "where are we going?" He says quietly In a groggy morning voice
"Will's place dustin said we all have to meet there at 10" i reply. He sighs and sits up "I made you a coffee" i pick it up once again and hand it to him
"Mm thank you" he kisses me softly then drinks the coffee "who's will?" He asks, putting down the coffee and putting up his hair
"Oh he lived he last year and moved to California awhile ago, but a few weeks ago he came back. You might like him I think he plays dnd" I explain
Eddie nods and walks to his draws and gets out some clothes and starts getting changed. He has so many accessories to his outfits Omg. seriously he insists on a belt, a chain, a bandana, rings, bracelets, hair ties, necklaces, guitar picks, and two jackets over his shirt. I mean he looks really hot but still that so much work just to get changed.
He turns to look at me and smiles "let's go before I change my mind and go back to bed" he takes my hand and walks out to my car.
I follow quickly behind him and get in the driver seat "ok by the way eleven can get scared easily so try not to be to intense, but I'll introduce you to everyone when we get there" he nods along as I talk
I drive us to Wills place and get out of the car with Eddie. I hold his hand and walk inside, inside everyone is already there and sitting in the living "finally, we thought you wouldn't show up" max says, ok it's only like 10:30 they can chill
"Sorry we would've been on time but some took ages to get ready" I reply playfully nudging Eddie
"Yeah yeah just be grateful I'm here at all" he replies, dustin looks at at us for a minute, he can definitely tell we're dating
"Ok quit flirting with each other we have shit to do, oh and Will and eleven, this is Eddie Mike can introduce you to him later" Dustin says
Will nods "so eleven still doesn't have her powers back and we don't know how many demogorgans there are right now"
"Right so basically we're fucked" Eddie comments,
"No, until El can close the gate we just need to stop them coming in, if we set the gate on fire it should call back and kill the ones already in the town and then we have to hope they don't keep coming through" dustin explains
"Ok and how are we gonna set the gate on fire if we don't know where the gate is?" I ask
All of them think for a second before Mike speaks "compasses, compasses are drawn to magnets right? And the gates have a huge electromagnetic field so our compasses will go wild when we get close to it"
"So all we need to do is follow a compass north until it starts changing" Lucas adds on. This kids are massive nerds.
"Ok so is there anything stopping us from doing that now?" Eddie asks. People just shake their head "ok cool so let's go commit arson then" I laugh and wrap my arm around his shoulders
"I'm guessing you wanna light the fire then?" I ask, he nods and smiles "alright let's go then" I take Eddie's hand and go out to the car
A few moments later the kids follow, Dustin holding a compass and will and Mike are holding hands, that's new, not surprising, but new.
We all pile into my car "do we have to be outside the car for the compass to work?" I ask Dustin
"I'm not even gonna answer that" he says deadpan. I look at him through the mirror and he rolls his eyes Steve "no Steve a compass still works in the car"
"Ok jeez I was just asking" we drive for a bit before dustin yells at me to stop "what?"
"I think we're close, we should walk from here" he says so we all get out of the car
