"Sean! Sean, hurry up!" I yelled, calling out to him from Big Joe's truck.

The dumb-dumb didn't bother to wake up this morning. I didn't think of waking him up since I was up at five. Plus, he woke up on his own on the norm.

"Sean!"

"Come on!"

I sat on the edge of one of the benches, waiting for him, calling out for him.

Suddenly he popped out, still struggling to put his boots on.

"Sean! Sean! Sean!" All of us chanted his name, a big smile plastered over my face.

I love that boy.

"Come on, baby!" I called out as he ran, waving at us.

I blew a kiss to him, not expecting to get one back, but I did.

Soon enough, he jumped on the edge of the truck and kissed my lips.

"Morning!" I smiled at him, still laughing as everyone cheered.

"Good morning," He winked at me.

"Nice of you to join us."

"Glad you think so," He kissed my lips again, giving me those butterflies all over again.

A feeling I hadn't felt in so long.

"I can't believe you almost missed the truck," I laughed out. "It reminds me the one time you chased down the bus on the way to school."

"Dad would've had my ass if I didn't go that day," Sean responded. "And I wouldn't have been able to see you, so that would've sucked."

The day went by a little faster than all the others. It seemed Sean and I weren't the only ones in a good mood.

With it being payday, it was really no wonder.

Less whining, less bitter drama— I didn't really think anything could go that wrong throughout the day.

I didn't realize how wrong I was.

"(Y/N), can I see you in my office?" I heard somebody call for me.

"Out of momma meds already?" Cassidy raised an eyebrow at me.

"No?" I responded, hoping that he just wanted something specific done.

"In that case, wouldn't he just ask Joe?"

Merrill called me in as he got the cash ready for everyone's pay.

"Yes, sir?" I closed the door behind me, and continued to dust— not sure if it would get me in trouble. I know he doesn't like people in his office.

I never blamed him, of course. Hire one bad egg and it could cause a problem. Maybe that's what he did.

"You can stop," He said, and I followed his instructions like I had don't time and time again.
