The Aftermath

How?
How did they even get here?
He was supposed to leave, wasn't he?
But here he was
He couldn't stay away from her.
No matter how much he pushed himself, he couldn't.
He loved her to much.

He hugged tightly, not wanting to leave her.
He hugged her as if the world was ending and they'd never see each other again.

His father was dead
So was his grandmother.
All he had left was Courtney and his grandfather.

"Court" he said, sniffling.
"Cam" she replied.
They cried happily in each other's arms for a while.
Was he going to leave? No.
But was he sure of what they would become? No.

All he knew or wanted was to be with Courtney.
He just wanted to stay with her.

About three months later, Courtney and Cameron sat at a booth at Riche's.
They sat in silence.
"Court, I'm really sorry about last night. I should've known better, I should've-," he started.
But Courtney cut him off.
"It's okay. And I'm sorry to. I shouldn't have made you fight your father like that" she said.
"It's alright. It was my choice anyways. It isn't your fault" Cameron said.
"Just to let you know, Artemis said she found him and killed him, so thats over. Hopefully" she said, concern written all over her face.
Cameron nodded.

"I'm good with that honestly. It sounds cruel, but it's true" he said, silence filling the room once again.

He had hundreds of questions.
Questions that weren't yet answered.

"Hey court?"
"Yeah?"
"Can I ask you something?"
"Uh, sure"

Shoot. Was he really about to ask?
"So, while I was fighting my dad, he said to me, 'don't make me do to you what brainwave did to his son' what did he mean?" Cameron asked.
Courtney's face fell remembering the reference Jordan had made. Cameron noticed her expression, immediately knowing something was wrong. Courtney hesitated before answering. She had assumed that he knew what it meant, but she needed to try an explain it.

"Brainwave was Henry King. His son, Henry Jr, also got his powers. Henry jr joined the JSA during the first battle we had. And we went to find brainwave, his dad. Once we got into the ISA tunnels, we got blocked off from Henry by his dad. And eventually he-," Courtney stated, stopping after her last word.
"He killed Henry." She said, looking down.

Cameron's eyes widened.
He knew that whatever his dad meant wasn't good, but he didn't know it was that bad.
He looked at her with sad eyes.
"That's, awful" he said.

Silence completely filled the room.

Soon, the waitress came up.
"Can I get you two anything else?" She asked.
The two looked at the waitress, then at each other, then back at her.

"I'll have a banana split" the both said at the same time.
They looked at each other, blushing. And the waitress let out a small laugh.
"I- uh, wanna share one?" Courtney asked.
"I'd love that" Cameron said.

Soon, the two were sharing a banana split.
And it was one of the best things they ever had.

They walked to Courtney's house quite happy.
They were holding hands and doing notice that they were still holding hands when they walked in.
Suddenly Mike and Jakeem popped out of a random corner, both smirking.
"Ooh looks like the lovebirds are back!" Mike said.
Jakeem wiped out his phone and took a picture, sending it to the JSA group chat.
"Haha can't wait to see their reactions!" Jakeem said before the two scurried off.

Courtney and Cameron were completely flustered.
They immediately pulled apart after realizing what was happening.
They laughed nervously as they looked away.
After a few minutes, Cameron said goodbye and left to go home.

Courtney couldn't be more happy that he had stayed.
And hopefully things would be great.

I've been up till midnight writing this lol cuz I wanted you guys to get it after the finale lol.

I loved the way they closed camney, but I'm really sad about it.
Now I did hear that there are rumors going around about it getting picked up, so I'm hoping and praying that it will come back.
