Kyler

The rest of the week was fine until Thursday arrived. I was meeting a woman from a dating site.

I arrived at the bakery this time, ordered a coffee, and waited. I glanced around and found Rachel sitting at a table near a window, drinking a coffee and reading a book. I would rather have coffee with Rachel than meet a random stranger.

A few minutes later, someone cleared their throat. My head snapped to a woman who looked to be in her fifties standing at my table.

"Are you Kyler?" The woman asked.

I squinted my eyes. "Are you Phylis?"

"Yes." Her painted lips twisted into a smile.

"Would you like to have a seat?" I gestured to an empty chair.

Phylis pulled out a chair and sat down.

"Can I get you anything?"

"A coffee, please."

"Sure." I stood up and started for the counter. "How would you like your coffee?"

"Black like my men." Phylis smirked.

I arched my brow, cringed inside, and walked to the counter. This date would be excruciating.

Pax met me at the counter. "Did you need something?"

"Yeah. I need a black coffee."

Pax arched his brow. "Didn't you already order a coffee?"

"It's for my date." I nodded at my table with Phylis sitting there.

Pax glanced at the older woman and quirked his brow before looking at me. "When did you start dating cougars?"

I cocked my head and scrunched my face.

"Let me give you a piece of advice." Pax poured coffee into a cup and placed a lid on it. "Desperation doesn't look good on anyone." He slid the cup toward me and smiled.

"I'll keep that in mind." I grabbed the cup and returned to the table to join Phylis. "Did you want anything else?"

Phylis took the coffee from me. "Oh, no. I don't eat preprocessed foods."

"Um, the food in the bakery is homemade and fresh daily."

"I don't eat refined sugar either."

"Okay."

"It helps me to stay young." Phylis's thin lips curled into a smile, showing her yellowed teeth.

"How old are you, if you don't mind me asking?"

"Oh, I don't mind at all. I'm sixty." Phylis beamed.

I pinched my brows, trying to figure out what to say.

"Now, let's get down to business." Phylis leaned across the table like I was her prey. "How are you in bed? Because I like big dicks and enjoy riding stallions."

Okay, I wasn't expecting that. Phylis licked her lips, making me cringe inside even more.

"Um." I gulped.

"Excuse me?" A voice asked.

We turned our heads to see Rachel standing at our table, holding an open box of donuts.

"The owner sent me over with a special treat for you," Rachel said.

Phylis sat back and straightened her clothes. "You must have the wrong table. I don't eat refined sweets. It's unhealthy for you."
