"Dear _____..." Amirah quietly hummed to herself as she placed the tip of her feathered quill on the paper she had laid out on her desk to write, and she narrowed her emerald eyes as she thought about what else she wanted to write. Before she could conjure her next lines, she heard a groan come from behind her, and she looked back to see her husband shifting from his side of their large bed.

"Amirah," He whispered, slowly opening his eyes to see his wife sat at her desk, and they wandered to the clock. Four in the morning. "What are you doing up at this hour?"

"I can't sleep." She answered as she rose from her maroon cushioned chair before ambling to her side of the bed to take a seat beside him. "You should try to sleep for longer, darling. I know how tired you've been lately." Rhoam yawned and hesitantly nodded, sinking back into his comfortable spot. Amirah stood up. "I'll go get us some water."

She walked to the doors to their shared quarters and, as quietly as she could, pushed them open so she could get from her room to downstairs without waking anyone else. Though, the moment she closed her door and took a step away, she heard the click of another door opening just across the hall, and two tiny feet stepped out of the room.

"Maeve?" She whispered, and the big green eyes of her granddaughter met with hers as she snuck out of her room, and a tiny gasp escaped her mouth.

"Amma!" She rushed over to Amirah, who held her arms out for her to run into, and once Maeve was in them, she lifted her up and let her rest her head on her shoulder. "I had a bad dream and I want mommy."

"Oh, it's alright sweetheart. How about we let mommy rest and I'll take you back to bed?" Amirah gently rubbed circles on the young princess's back, and Maeve yawned and nodded, wrapping her tiny arms around her grandmother's neck. "Alright. Let's go."

The door to the girl's bedroom was pushed open, and Amirah glanced to the right side where her grandson was sleeping soundly, and she walked to Maeve's bed and set her down onto it. As she pulled Maeve's covers over her and tucked her in, she heard Levin yawn, so she looked again, hoping he was still sleeping. Fortunately, he was.

"Amma, can you read me a story?" Maeve asked with wide eyes, and Amirah chuckled softly and nodded before strolling over to the bookshelf near the door, where plenty of favorite books and stories of the twins were stored. "I want the one about the lizard!"

"Alright, darling," She pulled the book from the shelf titled 'Fiery the Lizard' and opened it to the first page before sitting down in the rocking chair beside the princess's bed. "Fiery the lizard was a fireproof lizard, with a heart as warm as the sun. He went on adventures and journies each and every day, across the Eldin magma he would run."

She turned to the next page where more colorful illustrations were drawn, though it was difficult to see in the dark of night, and her granddaughter settled more comfortably in her spot as she continued to listen.

"One day, he met a hylian traveler who saved him from certain fate. The pair became a team, and the adventures they would have never had to wait." She showed Maeve the pictures before turning the page, and noticed her eyelids already heavy and tired. She smiled and continued. "Time and time again, these two would stay together. And perhaps once rejoined, they'd adventure forever."

The princess had fallen asleep by this point, and Amirah quietly chuckled and rose from her spot, leaning over to gently kiss her forehead. She walked to the bookshelf and put the book back into it's spot, knowing they'd likely want it again the next night. Perhaps they'd even get further next time, she thought.

Her slight daze was interrupted by the cries of her younger granddaughter from the other room, and she rushed down the hall to her room, only to find the door already opened. And when she peered in, she saw her daughter standing by the crib, rocking the baby in her arms and quietly hushing her.
