"Terrako!" You called as you wandered into Karusa Valley, searching around for the small Guardian. As you were leaving the Gerudo Canyon Stable, you considered heading to Gerudo Town anyway. Even if Terrako wasn't there, you'd be able to receive some help from Urbosa. But you saw Terrako's footprints in the sand leading towards the hideout, so that's where you went.
You had used your new ability of flight to get you across a small portion of the large desert, but the heat and dust clouds eventually got to you, and you couldn't keep control of them. Besides, it was beginning to wear you down. It required a lot of energy to perform such a skill, but you couldn't wait to show it off to Revali.
You could see the doors to the hideout just ahead, and you felt a lot of memories return to you just being in the valley. The memory of a time you were kidnapped and walked through the entrance, a time where you rushed through to find your sister, and another when you invaded the clan with an army of Hyrulean soldiers. None were necessarily good memories, but it was definitely a strong wave of nostalgia that passed over you.
You noticed a couple of guards hanging out at the entrance, one seeming to be just about your height and size. Time to do a little trick from the past.
"What are you guards doing talking on the job?" You called from behind a rock, and both quickly bowed down, not knowing exactly who you were, but likely fearing you were Esther. "I don't think it would be a wise choice to keep you on my guard if you're going to behave in such a way." You walked over to them, drawing your sword from it's sheath on your back.
"W-We're so sorry! It will never happen again, we-" They both looked up, and they were shocked to see the smirking face of a hylian instead of their leader. "Wait a minute, you're not-" And with a quick slash, both fell to your feet, and you looked around to make sure no one else had been watching. You kneeled down and grabbed one of the gloves on the soldier who was similar to you physically, and you checked to make sure it was your size. Perfect.
Once you were wearing your new attire, you snuck into the hideout, and you tried to act as though you were a genuinely lost footsoldier to catch the attention of a captain, without seeming like you were an imposter sneaking around.
"What are you doing away from your post?" You heard a deep voice behind you, and you turned around, ready to face a captain and hopefully receive an escort, but the grin behind your mask quickly faded when you realized the man standing there was no captain.
It was Sooga.
"I uh..." You trailed off, and the man stood waiting for an answer, but you were too busy panicking internally to give him one. You recalled a memory in your mind, a very specific one. One where you ended Sooga's life. How could he possibly be standing in front of you when you could have sworn you and Janelle had forced him to meet his end?
"I will escort you back to your section if you need me to," He offered, and you only managed a quick nod as you straightened yourself out, trying not to seem more suspicious than you probably already did. "What is your number?"
"Five-eight-three." You told him, having to glance down for a moment at the tag on your glove. Which was fortunately sticking out enough for you to see without moving your hand. He huffed and turned around, motioning for you to follow him down the hall and back with your troop.
"I told Kohga we need to train our troops better so they don't get lost so much," Sooga growled under his breath, and you remained quiet, still trying to process the fact that you were walking behind someone you watched die. And he probably didn't know he was walking in front of his murderer, if that was even really true anymore.
Your mind flashed to the scene where your sword was in his back, and you almost considered doing the same thing to him right now. You had your sword. His guard was down. You could really say you had all that power in this moment, but you decided not to. You could talk to Rhoam about this later, you were just here to get Terrako out and back to the castle.
