"Why?" My voice cracks

"Why?" My voice cracks. "I-I." I stutter starting to sob. I bring my hand up to my reddened eyes and pink cheeks. "W-why? I-I d-didn't want you t-to g-get me," I stutter through my sobs. I feel his hands tighten around my waist with my words. But I don't feel disgusting, I feel safe.

Safety isn't something if feel very often as I often feel alone. I'm constantly alone with my thoughts making me do stupid things.

He brushes my hair with his hand spreading the warmth of his body.

As my sobs start to die down I let out sniffles breathing heavily. I don't trust myself to say anything as my voice is raw and shakey from crying, so I just sit there in silence as he brushes the top of my head.

"Do you want to talk about it?" He asks in a rough yet soothing voice. "I'm so so tired," I whisper.

----------------------------------

After sitting in silence I decide I need to head home. "I'm sorry for wasting your time," I apologize. "Don't worry you didn't waste anything," He tells me with sad eyes. "Well, thanks I guess," I say starting to walk away only for him to stop me.

"Can I walk you home?" He asks. "If it makes you feel better," I tell him starting to walk away. He catches up quickly walking beside me. I could have sworn I felt someone touch the pocket of my hoodie but I'm probably just going crazy. As always.

We walk in silence as the moon guides me home. I look up at the starry sky wondering when it all went wrong. My hands shiver in my pant pockets as we walk toward my apartment. "You know I wasn't trying to kill myself," I say breaking the silence still sniffling my nose.

"Then what were you trying to do?" He asks furrowing his eyebrows. I let out a sigh "I just wanted to touch the water, to feel it," I explain. "I was just in my own world I guess," I say looking back up at the stars.

We finally reach my apartment and a similar feeling of dread washes over me. I'm going to have to go back to him. I don't want to go back to him. Maybe he'll be asleep?

"Hey, are you ok?"

I slowly nod my head continuing to stare at my apartment building. My heart beats rapidly in my chest as I start to walk closer to the building. "Well goodnight," I say turning around to face him.

-----------------------

I walk into my apartment seeing Will passed out on the couch with the TV still playing. I take the beer from his hand and turn the TV off. I stare at him as he sleeps so peacefully.

I walk into our room hearing his faint snores as I get ready for bed. I put on my pajamas and slip into the covers happy he isn't laying next to me.

I try to sleep seeing as it's almost two and I have work in the morning, but I simply can't. The strange man's eyes capture my brain for a loop swirling them like ocean tides. His eyes.

They were gorgeous, it took all the power in me to stop looking into them. He probably thinks I'm a creep honestly. Or a crazy person.

I can't even imagine that. A random woman sitting on the ledge of a pier about to jump.

Yeah, he definitely thinks I'm bat shit.
