His eyes come closer and he eventually takes a seat next to me. He has on an oversized jacket. Well, more of a formal trenchcoat. His hair is slightly messy and his face holds no emotion. I know he knows I'm here but he's not acknowledging me. He's just staring off into space.
I look back at the water hoping to see another fish. We sit in somewhat comfortable silence and listen to the waves crashing on the beach.
"Why are you here this late?" I hear him speak for the first time since he's been here. "Why are you here?" I ask back. I look up at him to see he's already looking at me. "I was bored and couldn't sleep," I say.
"Your apartment is like a mile and a half from here did you walk?" He asks. "Yeah."
"Why didn't you drive?"
"Driving is boring. Walking helps me clear my head."
I hear him chuckle "You're a strange human." He says with a smile.
"Alright, Mr. always shows up when Adelaide's trying to get some peace, what's you're excuse? Why are you here?" I ask.
"I knew you would be here."
I show a slight smile "So you're a stalker?" I ask jokingly.
"You know it, darling, I'm the biggest stalker in San Francisco." He smiles.
Darling?
"Is my life interesting then?"
"I don't know, is it?" He tilts his head with a smile.
"You're the stalker you tell me." I giggle.
He continues looking at me with a small smile as I blush. I'm so glad he can't see me blushing because it's dark out and if he can he'll probably think I'm just cold. I look back at the swirling waves and see another fish jump out of the water.
"Did you see that!?" I ask Zane excitedly. "Yup," he says looking back at the water in confusion. "I know you didn't see it, but a fish just jumped out of the water. That's the second one I've seen today." I bite my lip with a smile.
I can't describe it but with Zane, I feel so comfortable and at ease. He just has this aura around him that makes me feel good and safe.
I look over at him to see he's watching the ocean. I slowly scoot over to him and rest my head on his shoulder. He tenses for a second then puts his arm around me. I take in his calming scent and slowly drift off.

I wake up to the sun shining in my face and me basically on top of Zane as he sleeps soundly. I giggle as he snores.
I want to feel this all the time. Will, oh my god I'm basically cheating on him. I quickly get up and fast walk to my apartment. I know that was a bitch move but I need to get home before Will wakes up. I check the time on my phone to see it's almost 8 o'clock. Thank god.
I walk into my apartment to see Will still in bed. I quickly change into my work clothes and head out. I get into my car and hope there isn't much traffic. I speed to work hoping I'll get there on time.
I finally get to work on the dot and quickly start doing my job. Halfway through my shift, I take my break and a random girl sits next to me as I'm trying to eat.
"Hi girl sorry I just wanted to make sure you're ok. I don't know, you just looked sad and I wanted to be the person to cheer you up," She says brightly.
Awwwww she's adorable.
I laugh while chewing my sandwich I swallow and finally have some human interaction. "Hi nice to meet you, my name's Adelaide," I smile at her. "Nice to meet you too my name's Sydney," She tells me as we shake hands.
Sydney has gorgeous thick red curly hair and light skin dotted with freckles. She has on a blue puff jacket and tight black pants.
We talk and laugh until my lunch break is over and exchange phone numbers. It feels refreshing to talk to a girl. I never really had friends because everyone thought I was annoying and loud and the friend count completely went away when I got with Will.
I'm really hoping she can be the start of a new friendship.
