Dove was discharged from the hospital yesterday. Right when we got home she went to the couch cuddling Uno.

She comes over to the counter pulls out a stool and sets Uno onto the cold marble. He sits down wrapping his fluffy tail around his body and turns his head to look at me.
Fucking cat knows he's not supposed to be on the counter.
Dove rests her jaw on her palms and puts her elbows down looking at me not realizing I'm practically naked.

I sit up from the corner of my bed seeing the light turn on from under the doorway. I shake, gripping the sheets hoping it's not Will. I hold my breath in my mouth trying not to make noise. Uno is in my arms asking for pets without a care in the world.
As I sit there for some minutes I work up the courage to go out and investigate. I slowly open the door, peek out, and see Zane in the kitchen getting water.
I let go of the large breath in my mouth as I grabbed Uno who was lying on my bed cuddling with my pillow. He makes a soft meowing noise as I pick him up. I step out of my room grateful for Zane as my eyes adjust to the light.
"Zane?" I call out to him.
I rub my eyes as I hold Uno in my other arm. Zane looks spooked turning around swiftly. My eyes widen as I realize he doesn't have a shirt on.
How am I just now realizing how hot Zane is? I mean, I knew he was good looking but damn.
I sit on a stool holding my face in my hands and set Uno on the counter. He looks at Zane and I do too.
"What are you doing up?" I ask
"I should be asking you the same," He leans against the counter with his hands covering his chest. I blush as he looks at me.

"Why are you up this late, Dove?"
I look to the counter, shrugging my shoulders knowing I haven't gotten any sleep since I was discharged from the hospital.
I still need to let Albert know what happened. He has been calling me even though most of it is FaceTime because he doesn't know how to work his phone.
He's had it for three years.
"How long have you been up?" Zane questions.
"Only for an hour," I lie. I feel bad lying but I don't want him to be worried or think I'm high maintenance. I don't want to be a burden, a chore.
"I'll take your word for it." He leans on the counter.
My eyes look everywhere except him. The fridge, Uno, the sink, and the very small crack that runs in a sharp corner above the pantry.
