The next few weeks were hellish. The trainers, especially the Grand Marshal, were tough on everyone. Even if Alphonse felt pain watching his wife, he still didn't give him special treatment.
Since everyone, especially Alphonse Murong, who still had to go through the documents as the Grand Marshal, was busy. He couldn't visit his baby very night.
Alphonse no longer used the sleeping incense. He openly attacked Zen, who was pretending to be asleep. And Zen Si, who was too ashamed by the shameless and erotic words that Alphonse whispered every time, never 'woke' up.
After a year passed by, the southern border was broken though by the Zergs. This was in the plot. It was briefly mentioned that solving this incident consolidated Alphonse Murong's position because his position was something he just recently got. But that's just how big the incident was.
The breach led to many casualties and the death of Alphonse's right hand man. It was tragic but used as the reason as to why Alphonse became even colder.
This time, after only half a year of training, as the empire's only other SSS rank, Zen got permission to be sent to the southern border when he requested it.
When Alphonse found out, he was angry and sad but accepted it, mainly because the southern border at that time was known to be safe and also because he found out that Zen Si turned out to be his prospective fiancé.
Alphonse had called his mother to confess about his baby but after his mother got angry, the name of the prospective fiancé that his mother blurted out left him ecstatic.
Secretly planning with his mother to finalize the engagement, he said goodbye to his baby, now his fiancé. He planned to bring back his baby after a year of experience, then they would announce to the world...
...But he never expected there to be border breach!
He quickly responded and left for the border, praying that his partner holds on until he comes.
...
Zen Si knew this was going to happen. He was a soldier, not a scientist. He also didn't know the technology of the interstellar much. His words alone could only come off as suspicious and it's not something they could stop right away because the interstellar was always meticulous, yet the Zergs could escape their sight. And not to mention, he wasn't a good enough person to help everyone while risking himself.
He instead prepared his own team. He had planned to quickly deal with this with the least casualties and use it as a springboard to reach his goal: to be a marshal.
He had previously picked his team from the training camp. His request to take them with him was approved, largely because it was safe at that time and his status as a SSS rank.
They, the people who were stationed at the southern border, knew about the breach quicker. As soon as the news spread out, Zen Si took his team and quickly gave orders.
All contact with the HQ was somehow completely cut off. Zen quickly had someone note down the possibility of a spy. He had realized that his movements were restricted and he could possibly be watched at the moment.
The one in charge was rusty because of years of peaceful bliss in the border.
Zen took command by force and gave quick orders.
A week later, he looked down at the bodies of both Zergs, humans and mechs alike. When he smelt the rotten smell of blood, he once again had the urges to kill himself.
