A few days later, the group set off for the gathering with lots of new and old products to show off (sell), not knowing that their path would intersect with a certain lion. By the time Hua caught its scent, it was already too late.

A few days after their journey began, out of nowhere, a huge golden lion jumped out from a nearby bush and pounced on Hua, knocking him down.

Some of the hunters changed into their animal form and were about to fight the intruder when Rowan suddenly signaled them to stop. Tense in place, they watched as the lion...started licking Hua's face while wagging its tail excitedly.

Hua was also about to turn into his prototype when he smelled the familiar scent of his childhood friend. Stunned, he froze in place, allowing the lion to smear its saliva all over.

None were given a chance to react because the next moment, the lion turned into a handsome blond man with choppy hair and a huge grin, putting on a skirt almost at the same time in an experienced fashion. He picked up Hua with a single hand and kept holding on to him by his waist, clinging on with all his might.

Only after the transformation did Rowan ask, "Who are you? Hua's acquaintance?"

The lion was almost nodding when Hua slapped his hands off and stayed several steps away from the dog-like man.

With a cold face, he denounced all relation with the outsider, "I don't know him! Remember how I told you that I was previously from a tribe? He's from that tribe. I left that tribe for good, for good reasons. That tribe was anything but good. I had no good relationship with anyone there. This man is just a stalker who dared to invade our tribe."

The lion was stunned but only for a moment because he immediately sneered and rebuked, "I guess then we can ignore how you lived with my family for twelve years or how we shared the same bed in those years, or how I ate all your leftovers and disliked food so you wouldn't get scolded. We can forget how you confessed to me when we went out hunting for the first time, or how you told me to marry a female from the tribe. Damn, okay. Let's forget how the moment I come back from a trip to a nearby tribe, you just left our tribe without a word to me or even a hint."

Hua also got angry and shouted back with red eyes, "Yeah, why not?! After all, you are the almighty heir of that tribe. The next leader! What did you expect, huh? And yeah, thank you for eating my leftovers. What about it? Would you like me to eat your leftover food too? Maybe I should recite everything I have done for you! I confessed to you because I was too young back then. I told you to mate with a female because I finally realized your position and who you were. You are a successor, for fucks sake. You need an heir and a proper female, why can't you see that what you need is not an orc like me?" By now, Hua was sobbing from anger. "And what do you expect me to say? Even if  I told you what happened to me or why I left the tribe, or hey, I am leaving, so bye. What would have changed? Nothing. Actually, never mind. At least, you wouldn't have stalked me across a mountain and stayed put!"

The lion was calmer now, but he couldn't help but ask, "...Don't I deserve to know why?".

"No! Why would you? I don't know why you are here, but as you can see, I am doing well. So, you should go back to your tribe and let me remain at peace in mine."

Everyone seemed to see the lion's imaginary ears droop in sadness and stared at Hua in silence for a moment. As though having finally made a decision, he turned to Rowan and Roan in determination.

"My name is Leo. I relinquished my position as the successor and left my tribe before coming here. I know I am an uninvited guest right now, but please let me join your tribe. I have heard about your tribe, and I know that you guys are incredibly strong. If Hua chose this tribe and learned to be this happy, then you guys must be morally good too. I know you guys are picky, but I swear I have no criminal records. And I am strong. I can guarantee it. I won't be a burden, and if there is something else you require, I can do that too." To Roan and Rowan, Hua and this lion seemed to overlap, seeking out their tribe in the same way with the same words. There is no better proof to show that these two are childhood friends.

Rowan already had a headache when they started arguing, but now, he had a feeling that he was taking on more than he could chew. One big fight is one big headache, but imagining many such fights throughout their journey... he didn't want to imagine that. Although he wanted to recruit potential tribesmen, he wasn't so desperate for it that he would recruit just about anyone. But since the lion was a rare, strong orc even by his standards, he could make an exception...

Unlike Rowan, Roan liked the tea (gossip) he was served. Sensing potential drama plus chemistry, he resolutely looked at Rowan with approval written all over his face. There was expectation and excitement. Who wouldn't be when a television drama decided to deliver itself to their door in this world with no entertainment devices?

Roan's approval was all that was needed to tilt the scales, and Rowan gave his approval to the lion blindly. He was truly a husband willing to do anything for his wife. It was decided that Leo would join their tribe officially once they were back in the tribe. Until then, he would accompany them to the annual festival.

Thus, the crew got a new lively member to Hua's dismay.

The black rabbit bit his nails for the nth time, watching his mate flirt with a bear he had recently rescued. No matter how many times they argued, his mate insisted that it was just innocent banter.

When the tribe members gathered to leave for the annual festival, in addition to a bunch of rabbits, there was also an extra bear.
