Hey guys 🥹 I am currently trying my best to not cry, but that's impossible because Best Part is blasting into my ears and that song makes me emotional as fuck hu huh.

I just... y'all don't know how much this moment actually means to me. It was 9:43 on a Saturday night, when I finally completed my second TXT fanfic.

And right now, it's 8:40 on a Monday night, and I'm in disbelief that I also finished uploading the final chapter of this story.

I'll give y'all a second to enjoy the rest of the intro cuz that's what I'm doing lol.

The journey of Covers was... extremely bumpy and rough for me. Covers was inspired by the second concept pics for Chaotic Wonderland, and also by a friend of mine who said she loves college band stories. I also remembered my other friend, who is a big Shawn Mendes fan, telling me he started off with making covers (according to her you fans tell me). So, you know, I put two and two together.

Shortly after, on October 24th, 2021, I started writing this story. And to be completely honest, I had absolutely no idea what to do with it. I was so incredibly stuck with what I was supposed to do with the storyline, and this thing gathered so much dust. For months, it was abandoned in my drafts, and I often wondered whether I should give up or not.

The only thing I truly knew about this story was that TXT star as five MyDays, who play instruments, and meet up in a garage to cover DAY6 songs together. But that could have literally just been a simple oneshot, and I didn't wanna leave it at that.

But one day, probably around March or April, I decided to listen to Love Me or Leave Me loudly in my eardrums, and the memories of this fanfic came back to me.

And I thought to myself: huh, I should really work on it.

So I sat down in my desk, and started planning ahead. I had a whole list on Notes that had my ideas for every single chapter, and I would delete every section to keep myself on track. I also had a whole note with just the translations of DAY6 songs, as I knew that I'd definitely need it.

And then around July, I created a trailer (that I wish I could show but Wattpad does NOT like videos, unlike most social media apps 🤡) to this story, and watching it before every chapter was almost a way to motivate myself.

However, I was afraid to write this.

As we MyDays know, DAY6 is kind of stuck in a slump right now. Three members are still in the military, Sungjin just came back, and Jae is in America. And unfortunately, we have no idea what the future of DAY6 is. We don't know if they'll ever come back as five, and that's what honestly most of us want. All we can just do is... wait.

But anyways, like most MyDays, I miss the five of them terribly. They've become a really important part of my life the last two years, and not having a new album for already 1 ½ years is just painful on every level. Seriously, just why.

This story kind of became my way to cope with the drought.

But not just that.

I probably went through like four crisises while writing this, and while I was completely focused on working on the story, all of that just flew away.

So, thank you Covers for being a good one.

Thank you guys so much for reading my story. Even though it didn't have many reads and there were many times when I was discouraged about uploading more chapters, I'm still thankful for the ones who read every chapter when it was published and stuck with me till the end.

You all are my best part and my ring.
