Episode 16: Original Songs

Things did change.

Quite a lot even.

But it was mainly only their surroundings that did.

A day after they signed their contract, the boys were given a practice room all to themselves, bright and spacious with high quality sound. They were even allowed to leave their instruments here, as there was tight security on every door.

But they weren't gifted just that.

Manager Lee (that was how the boys referred to Sookwan) even offered them a place to stay in the company, as in, a floor just for them to act as a dorm. It had many rooms and even a spare kitchen with a huge pantry that could be filled with dozens of snacks.

However, the boys politely rejected, as Taehyun and Kai were just fine in their houses, Soobin had his father's insurance paying the rent of his apartment, and Beomgyu and Yeonjun preferred to be in their apartment, no matter how shabby it may be.

That was were the five boys were currently gathered.

It took Beomgyu and Yeonjun a lot of courage to finally bring the rest to their apartment, as its condition wasn't exactly eye pleasing. But by now, the boys were extremely good friends of theirs, and they knew that the boys wouldn't judge it so much.

Which was the truth.

In fact, they all rather sympathized with them.

"Wow, and you guys really don't want to move into that dorm?" Taehyun asked.

"Well, yes," Beomgyu responded.

"Despite these conditions?" Soobin asked.

Yeonjun exhaled.

"I mean... sure, the dorms seem nice."

"It's just that this apartment kinda holds a lot of special memories for the two of us. It's not so easy for us to just let it go," Beomgyu explained.

"If you ask me..." Kai began.

The two best friends glanced at him.

"... the best way to keep memories is carrying them around without seeing the place where they were created. If you guys keep living here, conditions may get worse and your rent may take a huge toll on you. The company provides a lot of luxury and the best part is that you don't need to pay for anything either."

"Kai is kinda right with that," Taehyun agreed.

"I think the same," Soobin added.

Yeonjun and Beomgyu glanced at each other, and let out a sigh at the same time.

"I guess I'll let Manager Lee know that the two of us accept his offer," Beomgyu said.

"Wait, you guys are actual serious?!" Kai exclaimed.

"Do we need to prove it?" Yeonjun asked.

"No!"

Taehyun giggled.

"And here I was, about to sing I'm Serious."

"That's a good one," Soobin chortled.

Yeonjun gave a slightly pained smile at them.

"Anyways, what I wanted to talk to you guys about," Beomgyu said.

"Oh right."

"So. Manager Lee suggested we come up with our own original song as soon as possible."

"Our own song?!" Taehyun questioned.

"This soon?" Kai asked.

"Yep."
