THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN _
A THOUSAND YEARS AGO
The Archangel Azzazel was well known to Dream and his family, as for her being the very first Celestial Creature born out of the sun itself.
She was as old as Father Time himself and much more younger than Mother Night who had never really liked the angel, but Azzazel didn't seem to care at all.
She had once been friends with Lucifer Morningstar who now ruled Hell with more of an iron fist, growing quite fond of her doing down there.
Sometimes Azzazel visited Lucifer, laughing about the Old Days before her Fall and how she missed her friend ever since.
Although there was one rule being placed all over Heaven, saying to never fraternize with a demon,(sounds familiar, right???)Azzazel was the only one who could break these rule.
She was the Archangel, anyway.
She could do whatever she wanted, as long as she wouldn't work against her Master - God himself.
Many decades ago, Azzazel had been chosen by the Almighty to guard the Gates of Heaven, the very same gates any living thing would pass through if it died.
Those who had done Good in life would pass through the Heaven Gate and begin their everlasting afterlife, being a worthy and loyal servant to their maker.
And those who had done Evil would pass through the Gates of Hell, being punished and tortured by Lucifer herself - no denying that she had grown rather fond of it.
When it came to Lord Morpheus, Azzazel had a habit of dressing herself in the most beautiful gowns made by the most talented Celestial Tailors.
She knew that he had a wife and son, loving them with all his heart and soul.
But as for the Archangel, she had never been loved at all.
So, she did her very best to impress him, wooing him with presents he never really got interested in.
But as long as he liked her, even just for a bit, Azzazel was very happy.
On this fateful day, Morpheus paid another visit to Heaven, arriving at the sparkling castle which was home to all Archangels in existence.
As soon as he entered, Azzazel came storming through the wide hallway, not wanting to make her most adored guest wait.
She wore a golden glowing necklace, matching her glittery white dress and a sparkling crown on the dark hair being tied into a loose knot.
"Morpheus!", Azzazel called out, her eyes glowing.
Coming to a sudden halt on the white marble floor, she attacked the Dream Lord with several questions.
"How long has it been since our last meeting? Is everything all right with you? How's Orpheus? Is he eating well? And how's your wife?"
Morpheus blushed, answering:
"I am sure that they are fine as ever, Glorious. But let us talk about why you have summoned me...this must be all business anyway, is it?"
