The lights came back two seconds later.
" Sorry. It was the fireworks. ", Ace apologized.
Everyone laughed. " Happy birthday to you... " the birthday song began.
Bailey sang along whilst waiting for her drink. After the birthday song, the bartender arrived with her cocktail.
" Sorry for the delay. I tripped and had to remake the whole thing, moreso I had to sing along for the birthday boy. "
" No problem. " Bailey said sipping her cocktail. This tastes different. " It tastes different... "
" Yeah. Sorry again. We ran out of that flavor... "
" No problem. Thanks. " Bailey said easing his queasy demeanor. She didn't need it. She herself was unsettled.
He smiled and excused himself. " Enjoy your drink. "
Bailey just nodded. If course she would. The taste was amazing, much better than the previous. The only backslide was it tasted like her cousin's mouth; passion fruit and honey. Too much honey, Bailey thought. After a while of drinking, the taste became weird. She began to feel weird herself.
She felt dizzy, a bit nauseous. She looked around for the bartender, he was no where to be found.
God! Dear Lord! Have I been poisoned?!
Really? Bailey put yourself back together and quit the paranoid shit!
How?!
*Sigh*Well, kill yourself. If you won't relax and live life what else should you do?
You don't understand! You never do...
A tap on her shoulder jerked her back to reality. She was mentally relieved when she saw Jax, from school.
" Wassup. Looking good. I saw you sitting all by yourself which isn't befitting for a person like yourself. So do you mind joining us outside for the fireworks? Trust me, you won't be disappointed. " he said all at once that Bailey had to give him a look. He smiled. " Should I repeat myself? "
" No. I listen to rap faster than that. I heard what you said. And I'll be out in two minutes. "
" Okay. I'll come get you. I hope you aren't frightened by fireworks? If yes, I'll be there to protect you. "
There's something about Jaxon that made Bailey doubt his superhero words.
Instead she rolled her eyes and said, " Or maybe I can keep myself safe by sitting alone here. "" Never mind what I said. I was only kidding. " he quickly apologized.
Bailey ignored him and finished her drink. Despite the paranoia, the cocktail was amazing, she just had to finish it all. She didn't realize how much she loves honey until now. For another entirely different reason.
" Lead the way. I hope I won't be disappointed. I've seen a lot of fireworks in my time. "
He chuckled. " Your time? Did you die or what? It all now makes sense because you look like you fell from heaven. "
Did he just hit on her? She mentally rolled her eyes, intentionally ignoring him. She checked the time on her phone: 12:34am.
She's leaving once its one thirty am. With or without her cousin. This party just killed her vibe, but the dance challenge was actually an upliftment, in a way. J.hayden V. Sparks. I wonder what the V. stands for? Moreso the J.hayden¿ What kind of name is that? People call him Jayden, teachers call him Jordan or my boy..... So favoritism.
